Goodbye, Dr. Cuddy: Lisa Edelstein leaves ‘House M.D.’ after seven seasons

Dr. Cuddy will no longer be treating patients.
That’s because actress Lisa Edelstein, who has been starring in ‘House M.D.’ for the past seven season, will not be returning to the FOX medical drama next fall.
“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” Edelstein, 44, tells TV Line in a statement.
Just last week, Edelstein’s costars Robert Sean Leonardand Omar Epps renewed their contracts. They will appear alongside Hugh Laurie, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson.
The only recurring cast member who has yet to renew his contract is Jesse Spencer, 32, who has played Dr. Robert Chase since the series began.
