If you’re a faithful viewer of American Idol, you probably were just as shocked as the rest of the world when Pia Toscano was eliminated last night. The 22-year-old’s departure reportedly caused a barrage of emotions, because an Idol source tells TMZ:

“Everyone was sobbing. They were totally bummed out she was leaving.”

Afterward, the contestants went to a “Kiss Off Dinner,” and when Pia came in after everyone was seated, reportedly the meal was covered in more tears. One of the producers had wise words for the eliminated singer saying:

“The point of ‘Idol’ is to launch careers.  Pia, you’re launched.”

While there has been a debate on which of MTV’s Jersey Shore cast members were indeed getting their own spin-off reality shows, the network has announced that JWOWW, Snooki, and Pauly D will be picked up. For a while, Ronnie was attempting to get a show as well, but there was no news in the announcement on him receiving the same MTV honor as his comrades.

Chris Linn, MTV’s Executive Vice President of Programming, says in a statement:

“The Jersey Shore cast is at the center of the show’s success, and Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities[...]We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships.”

Nicole and JWOWW are set to be in a show together, chronicling their time as roommates, and Pauly D if flying solo, though I would expect many cameo appearances from the regular Jersey Shore cast.Both shows begin production later on this year and will air early 2012

Actor Michael J. Fox was all smile with his 10-year-old daughter Esme as they celebrated Parkinson’s Research Day at the Empire State Building today, April 8. Today has been proclaimed The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research Day in New York City, and to celebrate Esme sported a ‘Team Fox’ t-shirt and flipped the light switch at the Empire State Building lighting.

They honored Parkinson’s patients, supporters, and researchers worldwide, and after the ceremony the father-daughter pair went up to the 82nd floor to have some fun on the observation deck.

Superstar pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has a new business venture that is sure to stun many who have been loyal fans of the HH brand all these years. The platinum blond reality television star is breaking into something called Micro Wrestling, and he has created a show that is currently in production for TruTV.

Hulk’s attorney explains:

“He’s the guy who inspires, recruits, trains and mentors them. He’s been involved in every step — only this time it’s on a smaller scale.[...]It will explore the fascinating world of wrestling on the scale of little people. It will show their extraordinary physical capabilities and the true strength of people of that stature.”

After the wrestler underwent back surgery last year, many didn’t know whether he would continue to get in the ring. He has since married his new wife and once longtime girlfriend, Jennifer McDaniel, and his attorney goes on to say:

“His health is exceptional. He’s improved dramatically. He’s in better shape now than he has been in 15 years. He’s a remarkable athlete and I would not be surprised if he made a decision to get back into the ring and give wrestling another shot.”

Actress Amanda Seyfried was spotted in London, sans boyfriend Ryan Phillippe, just days after the premiere event for her latest flick, Red Riding Hood. She arrives at the Dorchester Hotel earlier today, looking adorable in blue.

In what’s probably the most enjoyable interview Robert Pattinson has ever done, the Twilight actor answered some off the wall questions posed by Elle magazine. The periodical spoke to the 24-year-old actor about filming two upcoming movies, Water For Elephant and Bel Ami, the latter of which he plays a journalist who sleeps his way to success.

“Completely. I thought it was funny as well — Twilight having quite a bit of a female audience— to play a guy who basically screws women out of money,” he said. “I like the fact that you never hear of a movie where the bad guy stabs every single person in the back and then wins.”
