I’m sorry, my head is still spinning from yesterday’s story, where Kirstie claims she’s size 6 now. While there’s no way on this planet that she’s a size six now, she definitely looks good here!
It’s back to school (again) for Hollywood’s James Franco.
A University of Houston official said on Thursday that Franco has been accepted for the doctoral program in literature and creative writing.
J. Kastely, director of the creative writing program, said Franco plans to enroll in September 2012.
Only 20 people are admitted to the graduate program each year, chosen from about 400 applicants, Kastely said. Half of those are in the doctoral program.
Franco’s soon-to-be status was first reported on Wednesday by Burn Down Blog, which linked to a newsletter for the creative writing program that listed Franco as among incoming students for fall 2011.
Kastely said the actor originally planned to enroll then but has asked to defer for a year.
So what does it take to get accepted in such a selective academic program? According to Kastely, University of Houston ”accepts graduate students based on a writing sample, letters of recommendation and a personal statement. Doctoral students also must submit ‘a strong piece of critical writing,’ to demonstrate scholarly abilities.”
In case you didn’t know, James has just been casted to co-star in ‘The Stare’ with Winona Ryder, a film produced by Jeff Kalligheri and Steve Bowen. Also… the kid is… well… already “well educated.” He has a lot of education under his belt. According to his Wikipedia page, it goes something like this:
Dissatisfied with his career’s direction, Franco reenrolled at UCLA in the fall of 2006 as an English major with a creative writing concentration. Having received permission to take as many as 62 course credits perquarter compared to the normal limit of 19 while continuing to act, he received his undergraduate degree in June 2008 with a GPA over 3.5. For his degree, Franco prepared his departmental honors thesis as a novel under the supervision of Mona Simpson. He moved to New York to simultaneously attend graduate school at Columbia University’s MFA writing program, New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for filmmaking, and Brooklyn College for fiction writing, while occasionally commuting to North Carolina’s Warren Wilson College for poetry.He received his MFA from Columbia in 2010. Franco is a Ph.D. student in English at Yale University and will also attend the Rhode Island School of Design.
Anyway, I wonder if Franco has to pay tuition to attend. Just thinking… a school like University of Houston could possibly waive his tuition fees since since such a notable Hollywood name would increase the school’s prestige. What do you think?

The 41-year-old singer and designer, known for her ultra-feminine red lips and platinum locks, and rocker hubby Gavin Rossdale, 45, have consulted a fertility specialist to help them conceive a girl. “Instead of leaving it up to fate, they’ve decided to get science involved,” a friend explains of the couple, who are already proud parents to Kingston, nearly 5, and Zuma, 2. “They are taking measures to better the odds.”

We haven’t seen Angeline Jolie as a model in a while. Her last modeling campaign was for the clothing line St. John. Jolie modeled for the label for 3 years. She’s also been the face of Japanese beauty comapny Shiseido.
Those are both relatively small brands – compared to the new brand she just landed, Louis Vuitton!
Angelina Jolie just bagged a lucrative endorsement deal. E! News has learned exclusively that Jolie is set to be the face of an upcoming worldwide ad campaign for designer Louis Vuitton. The print-only campaign, which is scheduled to launch this summer, will be marketed globally…
A source familiar with the deal between Jolie and the French fashion behemoth tells E! News that the actress will get paid “close to $10 million” for her high-end endorsement deal, believed to be the most lucrative of her career.
We hear that Annie Leibowitz will do the photo-snapping honors within the next couple of weeks.
A rep for Louis Vuitton had no comment. Jolie’s publicist did not return calls seeking comment.
Jolie, who last year ended a long-term endorsement deal with St. John and recently launched a jewelry line, has long been a fan of the brand, often sporting its handbags in public.
Past celeb endorsers of L.V. have included Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
Actor Ryan Phillippe is so proud to have 11-year-old Ava and 7-year-old Deacon as his children.
When Ryan was asked what he loves most about being a father at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of The Bang Bang Club, he was very enthusiastic. “Everything! Everything! I can’t pick one thing!”
In the film, Ryan, 36, portrays a real-life combat photographer who covered the unrest in post-apartheid South Africa in the early ’90s. At home, his life is much simpler, as he balances the pressures of fame to create a good life for his kids. “It’s pretty easy,” Ryan said. “I don’t work all the time, so months go by when I’m at home with the kids full time. It’s not that much of a challenge.”
It’s been an eventful year for the handsome actor. Reese recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth, and Ryan is rumored to have moved on with girlfriend Amanda Seyfried, 25. But controversy struck again when ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp revealed she was pregnant with Ryan’s child in March. Until the baby is born in June, Ryan is reportedly waiting for a paternity test to confirm that he is indeed the father. But The Bang Bang Club’s director, Steven Silver, is fully convinced that Ryan will handle all of his challenges with strength and dignity. “Ryan is tough as hell,” Steven told In Touch. “He’s had a lot of stuff thrown at him, and he just handles it.”
