Actress Melissa Gilbert, most known for her childhood role on Little House on the Prairie, and her husband of 16 years, Bruce Boxleitner, announced today that they have officially separated. Melissa made this short but sweet statement:
“We have loved each other for a very long time and we share four incredible sons together. On behalf of our family we ask to be allowed our privacy during this very difficult time.”
The couple have one biological son together, Michael, who is 15-years-old and named after Melissa’s Little House co-star Michael Landon. Melissa has a son with her ex-husband Bo Binkman named Dakota, 21; Bruce has two sons from his previous marriage to Kathryn Ogilvy who are 30 and 25.
Kings of Leon guitarist, 25-year-old Matthew Followill, and his wife Johanna are expecting their first child this spring. Though drummer Nathan Followill married back in 2009, and singer Caleb Followill proposed to his girlfriend last September, this is the first baby announcement from any of the members.
Congrats to the couple! We’ll keep you updated on whether the King will be adding a little prince or princess to the family.
Singer and soon-to-be mom Pink took to Twitter yesterday to voice her opinion about not only Christina Aguilera’s arrest, but Britney Spears meltdown. In less that 140 characters, Pink was able to get a jab or two in, letting critics know that they were more than wrong about who was the bad girl in the bunch.
Kim Kardashian stopped by the Ryan Seacrest show this morning to debut her new song, “Jam (Turn it Up)”. She told Ryan “I’m very shy and I don’t want to really sing in front of people.”
But she warmed up quickly and said she was feeling great. “I’m excited (and a little nervous) for you all to hear the song and watch the video. I really hope you all like it!”
Take a listen below!
The song is TERRIBLE! I don’t even see how this would get any airtime at all – if she weren’t Kim Kardashian.

While the mug shot wasn’t officially released following Christina Aguilera’s arrest over the weekend (because police never charged her with anything) the detectives over at E! caught a glimpse.
It’s such a sad mug shot, isn’t it?
Christina was arrested early Monday morning, along with her boyfriend in West Hollywood, for public intoxication and driving under the influence.
Police say Christina was being driven by her boyfriend, who was drunk around 2:45 am yesterday. While Matthew was being arrested, cops noticed that Christina was too drunk to care for herself, so they arrested her for public intoxication.
According to TMZ, friends and business associates of Christina’s have been begging her to check into rehab for months.
As one source put it, “Maybe when she was married she was able to keep it under wraps, but it’s out in the open now.”
And we’ve learned … Christina’s drinking became an issue in her divorce. Jordan Bratman voiced concern about Christina’s drinking when they hashed out their child custody agreement but they ultimately agreed on joint custody.
We’re told Jordan has been mum since yesterday’s arrest. It’s unclear if he’ll try and reopen the custody case.
We’re told Christina has shut down all attempts to get her into rehab … at least until yesterday.
Man, Charlie Sheen is on a roll! Last night it was reported that Charlie Sheen lost custody of his twin boys, and they were taken away by police last night.
A judge temporarily took away Charlie’s custody of his twin sons on Tuesday, when ex-wife Brooke Mueller alleged that Charlie told her “I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom”.
Brooke’s lawyer quickly got a temporary restraining order against Charlie, prohibiting him from going near her. The judge also ordered Charlie to give up his twin sons, Bob and Max. The twins were removed last night.
According to legal docs, Brooke also claims … on February 23 Charlie threw a phone inside his house and then with a penknife in hand, threatened to stick it in Brooke’s eye.
Today’s hearing was held without notice to Charlie — his lawyers were not present.
Brooke’s lawyer confessed to the court … Brooke is currently in a “day treatment” facility for substance abuse. She says she will see the kids for around 4 hours a day while the TRO is in effect and her mom will provide care for the rest of the day.
Sources tell TMZ Charlie’s team is furious that the order was issued and plans to go to court tomorrow in an attempt to undo it.
Charlie tweeted Tuesday night, “My sons are fine … My path is now clear …. Defeat is not an option!”
Charlie was just live on “Today” where he said he didn’t say those words, adding “it’s colorful … that’s a good one I guess. If you spend enough time around me you can formulate things and make it sound like it could have come from my mouth, but you can do that watching reruns.”
He also looked at the camera and sent out a message directly to Brooke, saying “I’m sorry you felt this had to be done in this way, but this does not display any responsible parenting.”
It looks like Katie Holmes will be a bit more busy than usual. Today (March 1), Holmes files a $50 million lawsuit against the publishers of Star magazine after a recent cover implied that she is a drug addict.
“Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale. The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines,” Holmes told PopEater in a statement.
The cover photo shows Holmes looking tired and upset, with the tagline: “Addiction Nightmare: Katie Drug Shocker! The real reason she can’t leave Tom.” Inside the issue, the story does not say that Holmes uses drugs but focuses more on her use of an “e-meter” during Scientology sessions, which allegedly reflects past emotional experiences.
The lawsuit alleges that Holmes was defamed by the tabloid. According to her rep, Holmes was forced to file this lawsuit “to vindicate her reputation after American Media refused to retract its vicious lies about her.”
“Star Magazine’s malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful. Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside. Someone should bring a class action to get all buyers their money back,” Holmes’ attorney Bert Fields said in an official statement.
In order to prove libel in U.S. courts, the plaintiff must prove defamation occurred and that injury to their reputation happened as a result.
Star Magazine is standing by their cover story, telling PopEater: “We have not been served with any papers yet, however Star fully stands behind the editorial integrity of what we have published concerning Ms. Holmes’ controversial use of the Scientology e-meter. The physical effect of the e-meter on its users is a matter of significant public concern, and we plan to vigorously defend the suit filed by Ms. Holmes. Our attorneys look forward to deposing Ms. Holmes about her experiences with Scientology and the e-meter, and expect that the case will be promptly dismissed by the court.”
