Kate Winslet opens up for the first time about her split from husband Sam Mendes, calling being a single mom “empowering”.

After being married for seven years, the actress announced last March that her second marriage had come to its end.

But being single has its perks, the actress tells Vogue UK.  “(It’s an) empowering thing… Experiencing those moments of being alone… is a very, very weird flooring and exposing position to be in when you’re just not used to it. And it’s not just being in a relationship.

“It’s also the fact that I grew up in a family full of people.”

She says she’s never felt alone. “I’ve never been lonely. And with kids Mia and Joe that remains the case.

“But to be in this place now where I can say I really like this space. I really need to not have anyone around. It’s a surprise to discover that I like being on my own.”

Charlie Sheen was just fired from his hit CBS show, ‘Two and a Half Men’.

“After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on “Two and a Half Men” effective immediately,” the company said in a statement.

CBS suspended the show after Sheen went on several benders, and then canceled the show after he went on the radio and bashed TV bosses.

Sources close to Warner Brothers admit they haven’t decided whether or not they’ll cancel the entire show or just find another leading man.

TMZ has obtained a statement from Charlie saying:

“This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of their bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”

The Kardashian girls have teamed up again this afternoon to do what they do best, shopping and filming their reality show. Mom Kris and little sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner joined in the afternoon’s fun at Cross Creek in Malibu.

Just two months after announcing her engagement, this celeb just announced she’s called it off!

According to EW, Grammy winner Marc Anthony is joining TNT’s drama series HawthoRNe as a series regular.

Anthony was on the show as a guest star for a couple episodes last season, playing Det. Nick Renata. He’s been brought on board the series just as star Jada Pinkett Smith’s title character Christina Hawthorne struggles with the news that she is pregnant. The two had some chemistry last season, but Christina had told Nick she wasn’t ready to jump into a new relationship.

Anthony has been dubbed the top-selling salsa artist of all time; HawthoRNe averaged 3.7 million viewers last season and is returning in June for its third season.
