In the new issue of Rolling Stone, writer Neil Strauss spoke to Howard Stern for over three hours at SiriusXM headquarters in New York. During the wide-ranging interview they discussed Stern’s traumatic divorce from his ex-wife, the wild period in his personal life that followed before he met his second wife, former sidekick Artie Lange’s suicide attempt, his many years in therapy and his plans for the next five years of his radio show.

On his recent contract renewal:

When it came down to sort of figuring out what I was really after, I was pretty sure I was going to leave the radio. I thought I’d kind of done what I needed to do. I still enjoyed it, but I also found that I wanted time to do some other things.”

On Artie Lange:

“He said to me recently that he would be willing to come on the air and explain what happened and stuff. I don’t even feel strong enough within myself or that I’d be doing the right thing by him, because I don’t want to do the wrong thing for Artie. I just want Artie to stay alive.”

On Charlie Sheen:

“I sort of admire Charlie Sheen’s ability to say f*ck you to the world. It’s a fascinating car wreck because, you know, how many people are in Hollywood dying for a hit television show? I don’t know whether to give him a medal or to throw him in a loony bin.”

On single life after divorcing Alison:

“After my divorce, I realized, ‘Oh, wow, I can go have sex.’ And I was running around, picking up women. Then all of a sudden, it dawned on me that I really didn’t need that much sex. I just wanted somebody with me every minute. I was using women as a surrogate mother.”

I love me some Howard Stern. I listen to his show every single morning – all the way through. Have done that for the last – oh – 10 years? He can be crude, he can be crass, but he’s always entertaining. I get a lot of information from his interviews, because he asks the questions that no one else dares to ask. He really IS the King of All Media – and when he leaves Sirius, so will I!

Katy Perry’s mom is not a huge fan of Katy’s racy act. Page Six is reporting that Katy Perry’s mom, Mary Perry Hudson, is shopping a book about her Christian faith and the choices her daughter is making – and the effect they’ve had on her family.

Perry, whose real name is Katy Hudson, began her career as a Christian singer. She’s been open about her upbringing, saying her parents were strict disciplinarians.

“We were never allowed to swear,” Perry has said. “I’d get into trouble just for saying ‘Hell no.’ If you dropped a hammer on your toe in our house you had to say something like ‘Jiminy Christmas.’

“The only music we were allowed to listen to was gospel. No wonder I rebelled!”

In the proposal for Hudson’s book, it states, “Amid a torrent of negative reports from tabloid magazines and entertainment shows, Mary Hudson wants to tell ‘her story’ and dispel a lot of rumors. Katy’s success has impacted her ministry in both negative and positive ways.”

“She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career. This memoir is to set the record straight. It is not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all. It is the story of Mary Perry Hudson.”

While Mary Hudson doesn’t support all of her daughter’s choices, she does support the most important one: Hudson’s marriage to raunchy comedian Russell Brand. At this year’s Academy Awards, Hudson announced to PEOPLE, “I just can’t wait for them to have babies. Grandma, here we come!”

Whitney Houston is so worried about her 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina she’s stepping in to take control.

Whitney is no stranger to addiction problems, having struggled with cocaine addiction herself. Maybe this is why she’s taking action with her daughter!

According to the National Enquirer, in an attempt to save her adolescent daughter from repeating her own mistakes, the 47-year-old mama has reportedly canceled Bobbi Kristina’s 18th birthday celebration at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, is taking back the Lexus she gifted her daughter and is sending her straight to rehab.

Bobbi Kristina attempted to debunk the cocaine photos on Twitter recently, and now she’s back to shoot down rehab rumors, tweeting, “Excuse me, but I’d like to say that I am NOT going to rehab? I’m perfectly healthy and I am not addicted to anything but life.”

Houston credits her own mother, Cissy Houston, with saving her from her addiction to crack cocaine. Houston told Oprah in 2009 that her mother forced her to rehab after getting a court injunction that allowed her to stage an intervention with armed police at Houston’s door in 2004.

Bobbi Kristina’s father — R&B bad boy and Houston’s ex-husband, Bobby Brown — has a drug history of his own, and his daughter seems to be following in both her parents’ hard-partying footsteps. This isn’t the first news of the famous offspring’s teen troubles. Rumors have also recently surfaced of a Bobbi Kristina sex tape.

Is Bobbi Kristina really in a tough spot, or does the National Enquirer just have it out for Houston’s daughter? In 2008, the Enquirer reported that a then-15 Bobbi Kristina “tried to stab her mom during an argument — and then attempted to kill herself by slashing her wrists.”
