Elaine Irwin speaks out on split with John Mellencamp

After being married to John Mellencamp for 18 years, Elaine Irwin is breaking her silence about their breakup. The 41-year-old Almay model is taking the split very, very well!

“The only thing certain in life is change itself,” the mother of two told GlobalGrind.com. “Change is good, some would say it is our greatest teacher, and I am embracing it.”

Mellencamp, who has been quietly dating Meg Ryan since the split, filed divorce papers last week.

   It is probably not a good idea to be dating while still married. As it was so eloquently stated in a polular movie: don’t open a new door without closing the old one.
