In some very sad news, we’ve learned that the cancer of which Elizabeth Edwards is suffering, has taken a turn for the worse. According to reports, her cancer has spread to her liver and her doctors are recommending against any additional treatment.
Her family released a statement, saying, “Elizabeth has been advised by her doctors that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive. She is resting at home with family and friends.”
People magazine reports that Elizabeth posted a message to her friends and fans on Facebook earlier today:
“I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope,” she writes. “These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that.”
Edwards, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2004, was briefly hospitalized last week after not feeling well over Thanksgiving. Doctors said her cancer had metastasized to the liver.
With the sudden turn, family members – including daughter Cate, a Washington lawyer, and her brother and sister, Jay and Nancy Anania – hastened to Chapel Hill, N.C., to be with her.
“It isn’t possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day,” Edwards wrote on Facebook. “To you I simply say: you know. With love, Elizabeth.”
We hope she can recover from this. Keep Elizabeth in your prayers!

Wesley Snipes won’t be home for the holidays after a judge denied his request to move the date in which he surrenders himself for his jail sentence.
He filed a request with the judge last week, asking him to move the turn in date from December 9th to January 6, 2011, but was denied.
TMZ reports:
Wesley’s argument … he has “four minor children” and didn’t want to get locked up “in the middle of the holiday season.”
But a judge didn’t see it that way — because according to documents filed today in Florida, the judge denied the request citing the fact that Wesley was originally sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago … and therefore the actor had “all of that time to place his affairs in order.”
The judge also wrote, “The sooner he begins his sentence, the sooner it will end.”
Poor guy…That has to suck, not being able to spend the holidays with your kids…. But it’s not like this was a surprise, right?

Reese Witherspoon, just like any of us, has had her share of bad dates! During a press gathering for her new movie, How Do You Know, she opened up about the experiences.
She said, “I had someone correct my grammar on a blind date once, and I knew within ten minutes that the date was over.”
She went on, “I don’t even remember what I said – I probably said ‘ain’t.’” She said that her pet peeve is, “Just don’t correct my grammar. I’m from Tennessee. I probably say everything wrong.”
People has more:
Onscreen, she’s caught in a love triangle with Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson. But off-screen, Witherspoon’s life is a lot less complicated.
The mother of kids Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 (with ex-husband – they split in 2007 – Ryan Philippe) has been dating Toth since January, and recently brushed off engagement rumors.
“I have two kids,” she said. “I have a very sort of settled down life.”
I can’t blame her for that one! I’d imagine I would be upset if someone was cocky enough to correct my grammar during a first date.

Former ‘Partridge Family’ star Danny Bonaduce got back on the marriage bus, tying the knot 28-year old former teacher Amy Railsback in a Maui wedding on November 22nd.
The wedding – complete with skull wedding rings – came after three years of dating; Bonaduce asked Railsback for her hand in marriage shortly after he finalized his divorce with ex-wife, Gretchen Hillmer.
The two met in a Starbucks three years ago, when Railsback approached Bonaduce to compliment his reality show, ‘Breaking Bonaduce.’
The wedding, as far as Bonaduce was concerned, was a bit of a surprise.
“The wedding planner from the hotel called to speak with Amy and told me I was getting married!” Bonaduce told PEOPLE magazine. “I said, ‘Honey you got something to tell me?’ Then I thought about it, and said, ‘This is a great idea!’”

Heidi Klum and her husband Seal are usually the picture of perfection in their relationship…but as far as Christmas is concerned, it’s causing a ruckus within their family.
In Touch Weekly reports:
Seal told the crowd at the Holiday Tree Lighting held at LA Live that Heidi, 37, likes to uphold the tradition of her native Germany by opening presents on Christmas Eve, but Seal likes to open gifts on December 25, like he did as a child growing up in England. So when do Leni, 6, Henry, 5, Johan, 4, and Lou, 14 months, get to see what Santa brought them? Seal, 47, said that “a Christmas tradition of fighting over when the kids get to open up their presents” has resulted, but “I always win and we open the presents on the 25th!” Still, Seal doesn’t seem to hold a grudge. After he performed his song “Secret,” an onlooker told In Touch, “He looked right into the camera and said ‘I love you, Heidi.’ It was really sweet.”
Why not just split it up down the middle? Seems like a good compromise to me!

She was there to accept the best actress honors for her work in Never Let Me Go, though it was predicted 2011 award season favorite The King’s Speech that dominated the show.
When asked about where she would keep her new statue, Carey responded in her typically down-to-earth fashion, joking, “It will go up in my parents’ house actually, they’ve got stuff, it’s kind of strange to have it in your own house. ‘Come in, have a cup of tea, look at my award!’” She also said she’s been “obsessively reading” The Great Gatsby in preparation for the role that made her break down in happy tears at the CFDA’s recent glamorous event. Carey has had quite the whirlwind year and she’s among our favorite imports from England who we’ll be seeing next in the enviable position of costarring with Ryan Gosling in Drive.
