After welcoming Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Dec. 25 via a surrogate, Sir Elton John, 62, and partner David Furnish, 48, shared the joyous news with UsMagazine.com.
“We have fulfilled a dream in finally becoming parents, and are so happy and excited at this very special time. Zachary is a gorgeous little baby and we are so proud of him,” John tells UsMagazine.com. The couple explained that they didn’t take long in choosing the baby’s name. “A friend gave us a book of baby names, and we started to flick through it, but we have always loved the name Zachary and kept coming back to it. In the end, we looked at each other, and put the book back on shelf, and said, “This is it!’”
The music superstar met Furnish, a film director and producer, in October 1993 at a dinner party held at his home. “He was very well dressed, very shy,” John says of their first meeting. Noting that he was “instantly” attracted to Furnish, the singer says their relationship took off from there. “The next night we had dinner…We fell in love very quickly.”
John proposed to Furnish in 2005 and the two married in a civil ceremony on December 21, 2005, the first day that civil partnerships could be performed in England, in the town of Old Windsor. The pair work hard to keep their relationship strong. “Every Saturday for 16 years, we’ve sent each other a card,” John told Parade earlier this year. “No matter where we are in the world, to say how much we love each other.”
It amazes me how much reality TV “stars” are paid to act like idiots on national TV. There is a rumor floating around the internet today that Amber Portwood – the felony-facing ‘Teen Mom‘ at the center of a very public legal battle – is being paid six figures by MTV.
Would MTV really pay Amber six figures!? According to E!… YES THEY ARE.
While in court this week to face up to the three felony and one misdemeanor charges argainst her for domestic violence and neglect (quite an example, eh, kids?), Portwood was asked some standard questions by the judge, including listing her occupation and salary.
Despite the objections of her attorney, Portwood was forced to reveal that she makes a whopping $280,000 per year for her MTV-airing shenanigans.
Let’s take a moment and let that figure sink in.
Broken down, Portwood told the judge that she makes $140,000 per six-month contract with the cable net, and plans on working with them for the full year.
Which explains how she was able to post that $5,000 bail so quickly.
True, that kind of bank may undercut MTV’s attempts at showing a real, struggling teen mom, but on the other hand, think of all the anger management classes she can afford! Win-lose.
Presumably (hopefully) the majority of the money is going into a fund for Portwood’s 2-year-old daughter Leah, since she and her Teen Mom brethren at least appear to be broke or close to it on the show.
Or maybe they just haven’t cashed the check yet? In any case, MTV knows a good thing when they see it, as Teen Mom is the second-most-watched show on the channel, behind (yep) Jersey Shore.
While earlier this year, reports circulated that the girls involved in the show made somewhere between $60,000-$65,000 per 11-episode season, that is clearly no longer the case. Or maybe Portwood finally managed to activate her infamy clause.

Neil tells People that they are blissfully happy since the arrival of their son and daughter.
“Everyone says that it’s such a blur after it happens,” says Harris of becoming parents to fraternal twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, born Oct. 12 via surrogate. “I find myself constantly just trying to wrap my mind around it.”
After almost seven years together, Harris, 37, and Burtka, 35, began the surrogacy process and were “thrilled” to discover they were having fraternal twins.
“We inserted two eggs, one with my sperm, one with David’s sperm and they both took,” says Harris. Holding their children in the delivery room shortly after their birth was “just absolute joy,” says Burtka. “We had two babies that we made. With help.”
The family just moved into a “more kid-friendly” home in the Hollywood Hills and the twins have a new nursery with an old-school Disney theme park décor. “Harper has been fussy but Gideon is the easiest baby in the world,” says Burtka. “They’re just now starting to recognize us and smile.”
“I just love the way they smell. And we can use them as an excuse to get out of almost anything,” adds Harris, jokingly. “That’s cleared the calendar in a good way.”

In an interview with Angeleno Magazine, the actress admitted that the film – where she originally met former partner and Matilda’s father Heath Ledger – is “a lot” to handle and will be an important experience for her to have.
“I was just an actor who happened to be lucky enough to be in the right place, and it was the place where I met Matilda’s father, and that is a lot,” she said.
“It was a lot. And it will be a lot for Matilda too, when she gets around to watching it. I will watch it with her, when she’s ready. It is hard to imagine what that would feel like, but one day, yes, we will watch it together.”
Williams recently described the period after Ledger’s death as a “year of magical thinking”.
