Jersey Shore alum Vinny Guadagnino wants to become a real television star! Who knew?

He already rules the Jersey Shore, but now Vinny Guadagnino wants to crack Hollywood! The MTV reality star, who will appear in an upcoming episode of The Hard Times of RJ Berger, is getting serious about his growing acting career. “I’ve done auditions for 90210 and Make It or Break It. I audition every week,” he told In Touch at the Time Warner Cable launch of their SignatureHome(tm) Service in New York on December 9. The handsome Vinny believes his role as the title character’s cousin on the MTV comedy series will help him reach small screen stardom. “Hopefully, that will catapult me into different scripted shows,” he said. “CSI, Law & Order; that’s what I’m all about!”

Oprah Winfrey just gave away a whopping ton of cash to charity! Wow, I am amazed. She really is Santa Claus for those in need!

People magazine reports:

Oprah Winfrey is the most charitable celebrity – by a huge margin – giving away more than $40 million rimarily through the Oprah Winfrey Foundation for causes including education and programs for women and children, according to a national philanthropic group.

Novelist Nora Roberts came in second, donating $4.45 million to the Nora Roberts Foundation to support literacy in underserved communities, followed by actress Meryl Streep, who gave $4 million to the Silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts.

These contributions were made in 2009, the most recent year financial information was available, according to The Giving Back Fund, which compiled the celebrity list.

“There are many generous celebrities, but when you can top a list of celebrity philanthropists three out of four years, as Oprah has, that is saying something,” said Marc Pollick, president of The Giving Back Fund, which creates and professionally manages charitable foundations and other philanthropic programs for entertainers, athletes, business entrepreneurs and corporations.

For its data, The Giving Back Fund culls media reports and tax forms and speaks to publicists, agents and others close to the celebrity, but it does not count pledges or promises to donate or donations to public charities, which are not publicly disclosed.

That is really awesome of her!

Former Star Wars star Carrie Fisher gave a new interview to The Advocate where she discussed John Travolta. Basically she says that we all already know that he’s gay and he should just come out of the closet!

Wow! I mean, my feeling about John has always been that we know [he's gay] and we don’t care. Look, I’m sorry that he’s uncomfortable with it, and that’s all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when you make that kind of legal fuss.

I have to wonder how he plans on responding to that one!

Miranda Lambert says that she plans on serving deer meat when she marries Blake Shelton in Texas this coming spring.

In a new interview last Monday, he said, “We’re having deer meat served at our wedding – we’ve already got a pile of ‘em ready. It was actually her idea, so when your girlfriend thinks like that, it makes it easy for me just to show up and have a good time.”

That’s not to say the award-winning country crooner hasn’t had any say in the planning.

“I got to pick some music and entertainment, and that’s all I cared about,” he said. “We’ve got some surprise entertainment lined up that I’m really pumped about. I’ve decided this night I want to be a lot of fun. I don’t want to call in favors. I just want to hire people that I want.”

As for Lambert? “I’m looking forward to getting married — just doing it,” she recently told Us. “Just taking that next step and becoming a woman and moving on in life.”

But Shelton is quick to add that doesn’t mean starting a family — yet.

“Man, we’ve talked about a son enough that we say to each other, ‘Let’s not even talk about this right now, because neither of us is ready,’” he told Us. “Of course, you never know what’s going to happen, but for now it’s not ever something that’s on our radar.”
