Shania Twain is now officially engaged to Frederic Thiebaud!

In an ironic twist of fate, the Swiss-born Nestle executive Thiebaud, 40, is the ex-husband of Twain’s former best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Marie-Anne is woman Robert “Mutt” Lange, left her for in May 2008. Mutt and Shania were married for 14 years.

Twain, 45, and Frederic developed a bond after their spouses left them for each other and a passionate romance began.

On Tuesday Shania confirmed that she and Thiebaud were engaged by issuing an open letter to her fans.

Here is what she wrote.

The people who make my life the most joyful are the ones I am able to lean on because of my own humanness. In the last two and a half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to. These people have been gifts, and I am fortunate to have so many of these beautiful people – friends, family and beloved fans, who’s support I cherish more deeply with each day that passes. Now another year is about to pass, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me believe that new beginnings are possible and that love can be trusted. Thank you!

Does this mean the Rock of Love shows are no more??

For 16 years Bret Michaels 47, and Kristi Gibson, 39 have been on and off again. But that is no longer. The rocker has finally made it official and proposed to Gibson on Monday night’s finale of Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It on VH1.

The couple already have two daughters together Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5.

Getting down on one knee, the Poison frontman said, “Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now.” Gibson responded in kind!

Gibson and their daughters stayed by Michaels’ side earlier this year when he suffered a terrifying brain hemorrhage and then a subsequent stroke.

“She’s the one who put up with me all these years,” Michaels tells UsMagazine.com of his bride-to-be. Immediately after Gibson accepted his proposal, they broke the happy news to their little girls, he added. “[I told them] ‘I did it! We’ll all be together forever! Family hug!’”

I am glad he finally proposed to Kristi. After all she’s been through with Bret, she deserves that ring!

I am a Bret fan, but I have not seen his new VH1 show yet, but may eventually check it out. Any of you watch it? If so, what do you think?

This is so sad!

Kim Kardashian reveals her most cherished Christmas present she received as a child, a puppy. Unfortunately, two weeks later her little doggy passed away.

“Valentina was its name, but then she died two weeks later,” Kardashian says, explaining that the puppy died of “snail poisoning.”

Snail poisoning?!

“You know when snails leave a little trail? [Valentina] got super excited and ate it and died,” she says.

But Kim was “super excited and emotional” when she met Valentina for the first time — unlike her big sister Kourtney, now 31.

“Kourtney would come down [Christmas morning] and wouldn’t care, and she didn’t really care that it was Christmas, while I was like, ‘Oh my God! I got a puppy!’ We were so different!”

“Kourtney never just cared” about the holiday, she added. “But I love Christmas, it’s our family’s favorite holiday.”

That would be so heartbreaking for any child.
