Well they would make a cute couple!

Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe not only got cozy at Kate Hudson’s annual Halloween bash at her Pacific Palisades, Calif., home — they also got close at another bash, hosted by CAA’s Todd Feldman on Saturday night in Beverly Hills.

Seyfried, 24, who wore a dog costume, was overheard telling partygoers, “We’re hanging out. He told me this was a good party.”

She was “flirty” all night, says a witness. “She was listening to him and talking close but no making out … she seemed intrigued by him.”

Phillippe, 36, dressed as Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi, “was being extra friendly and spirited,” adds the onlooker. “I’ve never seen him in such a good mood. He looked cute and was smiling a lot.”

Says another insider, “They definitely hit it off.”

Enough was enough for Demi Lovato, 18, who checked into rehab Monday to get professional help because – as a source close to Lovato’s family tells PEOPLE – “She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. [She] is taking control by getting help.”

The source confirms that a fight with a dancer on tour was the catalyst for Lovato’s decision to seek medical treatment. According to another insider, Lovato “doesn’t have that same kind of love for life that she at one point had.”

The insider tells PEOPLE she was already struggling with her weight when she entered her teens: “She definitely had body-image issues. She was always conscious of her weight.”

“Like many other teenage girls, she struggled a lot to fit in and find acceptance,” says a family friend. “She’s very sensitive, very intuitive and that is part of what makes her a wonderful performer – very talented. It is double-edged sword. I think she felt that the hard time she had [in school], problems with kids who were incredibly vicious made her stronger. But none of us feels strong every day.”

Lovato acknowledged those body issues to PEOPLE in September. “I have a tattoo on my rib and it says, ‘You make me beautiful,’” she said. “There was a song that inspired me when I was younger and it helped me through a really rough time I used to have self-image issues.”

The singer-actress added, “Feeling comfortable in your clothes is something I deal with to this day. I wish I had somebody I had to look up to when I was younger to stand up and say, ‘Hey, I have fat days.’ So I want to be able to start a foundation or something that’s for girls feeling confident, to empower them. ”

Bullied as a child, she wanted to work with kids to let them know, “I’ve been through it and I came out a stronger person.”

Shane Sparks, a hip-hop choreographer who was a judge on MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” has been ordered to trial on eight sex counts involving an underage girl in the 1990s.

A Superior Court judge ruled after a preliminary hearing Monday that there was enough evidence for 41-year-old Melvin Shane Sparks to stand trial on six counts of lewd acts on a child and two counts of oral copulation of a person under 16. He is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 15 at the Van Nuys courthouse.

The alleged crimes took place over a nearly three-year period ending in April 1997.

Sparks was arrested Dec. 18 at his Studio City home and he was released on $590,000 bail. Defense attorney Steve Meister says his client is innocent.

Former ‘Bachelor’ Jake Pavelka stepped out with a new blonde on his arm at a ‘Dancing With the Stars’ party Monday night, and he tells Us Weekly she is his new girlfriend, wedding planner Meghan Jones.

Jake told Us a friend introduced them less than two months ago and that they love to travel.

“We’re going to flip a coin in the morning,” he said. “It’s either going to be Hawaii, Australia, Bali or Bangkok. We’re just going to get up and go somewhere.”

Jake got engaged to Vienna Girardi on ‘The Bachelor’ last year but the couple had a nasty, televised split in July after he reportedly refused to have sex with her for months. In August Vienna announced she had a new boyfriend named John.

Disney star Demi Lovato has bailed on an international concert tour with the Jonas Brothers — and has checked into a treatment center to seek help for “emotional and physical issues” … TMZ has confirmed through the singer’s rep.

In a statement to TMZ, the 18-year-old singer’s rep says, “Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time.”

We’re told Demi is not seeking treatment for drug use.

The statement continues, “Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that.”

The rep concludes, “[Demi] regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future.”

Sources close to Lovato tell us the singer was in a physical altercation with a female member of her tour recently … which was a “catalyst” in her decision to seek professional help.
