The reason Miley Cyrus’ parents are splitting after 17 years of marriage: Mom Tish had an affair with rocker Bret Michaels, reports the new Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday). When Billy Ray learned of it – as well as at least one other fling – he filed for divorce Oct. 27, sources tell Us Weekly.
Michaels, 47, “became close to the entire family” this past February when he and Miley released the racy duet “Nothing to Lose,” an insider tells Us Weekly. He and Tish, 43, soon began carrying on an on-the-sly romance, sources tell Us Weekly. Tish was seen at Michaels’ Feb. 28 show at the Key Club in L.A., and he had once asked her production company’s help to adapt his book, Roses & Thorns, into a movie.
“Billy Ray was completely unaware of what was going on,” the source says of the “Achy Breaky Heart” crooner, who is seeking joint custody of their three minor children, Miley (who turns 18 Nov. 23), Braison, 16, and Noah, 10. (They have three older children from previous relationships.)
Though a rep for Michaels refutes the allegations, telling Us Weekly, “There has never been an affair or a fling,” and a rep for Tish also denies the dalliance, the Cyrus source insists, “It was a professional relationship that turned into something more.”
Rihanna might not have been able to make it to her BFF Katy Perry’s recent nuptials in India, but rest assured—the two will soon be making beautiful music together.
In between her many travels, “Only Girl (in the World)” singer Rihanna called in to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Monday morning to again express her regrets that she couldn’t make it to Perry’s big day—and to announce that the pair will be heading into the studio to collaborate soon.
Rihanna said, “She actually sent me a song a while ago and she wanted me to be a part of it. And I was like, ‘Hell yeah, of course, that’s my girl,’ and the song is amazing. So we’ll be recording that together pretty soon.”
If it’s half as good as Rihanna’s other recent collaboration—her incendiary duet with Eminem on “Love the Way You Lie”—she and Perry might as well stock up on Grammy polish now.

Fergie on her success: “Well, for some lucky reason or gift from God, I’ve known what I wanted to do since I was a little girl. And even through disappointments and rejection, there was something inside of me that wouldn’t give up. I’m a survivor, and I’m very driven.”
On working out: “I work out all the time… Cardio, resistance and a lot of jogging. I love to go hiking. I’m bringing my trainer on tour. I said I’m going to invest this in myself, into my self-worth, into my self-esteem.”
On women with low self-esteem: “It’s become actually the norm, I feel. And it’s really sad. The thing that I can say is, you’re not alone. [And if] you start making the right choices for yourself, all of a sudden you start feeling better and better. You’d be surprised how addicting high self-esteem is.”
When asked about her “sobriety” in the context of her crystal meth addiction: “Well, I’m not claiming to be sober. I think that that would be misleading. I drink alcohol. My father has a vineyard, and [the wine is] really delicious, by the way. Anyway, for most addicts, they would advise never to have any sort of substance. I just have my own journey, and I am very blessed to this day to be alive.”
Advice to young women: “Eye Cream. No. [Laughs.] I mean, that is one. But that’s the most shallow one of them all. Basically, there were periods of my life when a lot of people didn’t believe in me. [But] I still had faith in myself. I really had to ask myself life questions. Where do I see myself in five years? Create a ladder for yourself, and walk up the steps. Climb that ladder.”
On having babies: “They are on my list of goals, yes. [Laughs.] Well, a girl’s gotta keep something private. But yes, it’s on the ladder.”

That’s how much Christina Aguilera raked in on Halloween when she performed for one hour at a private party.
The guy behind the party is mega-loaded investment guru Charles Brandes — who throws an annual super expensive Halloween bash at his San Diego estate.
We’re told Brandes locked in Aguilera to perform this past Saturday night between 7:30 and 8:30 pm — at a rate of $16,666 per minute … plus hair, makeup, travel and other related costs.
Sources connected to the event insist Brandes didn’t pay Christina a dime over $500,000 — but several well-connected sources in Aguilera’s camp are standing firm on the million dollar mark.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is stepping behind the camera to develop a comedy at ABC, a network rep confirms.
ABC has ordered a script for Bad Taste in Men from Hewitt and writer Austin Weinberg. The comedy follows a Chicago woman unable to find Mr. Right. Hewitt wouldn’t necessarily star in the series, though.
The 31-year-old Ghost Whisperer star also is developing an adaptation of her TV film The Client List at Lifetime as well as a comedy about the love life of a career-driven woman at Fox, according to Variety.
