Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood’s mother, Tonya, speaks out exclusively to Life & Style to separate truth from rumor. For months she’s stayed silent while her 20-year-old daughter was shown physically and verbally abusing former fiancé Gary Shirley in front of the couple’s toddler, Leah, 2, on the MTV series Teen Mom.

Amber wasn’t always so volatile, Tonya insists to Life & Style. “She needs a break from filming. Although she’s already started shooting season three, “I think she should quit now,” Tonya says. “Things need to calm down. There’s been way too much drama.”

Even before Gary came into the picture, Tonya reveals, Amber had been emotionally damaged by the loss of her infant sister, Candace, who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome when Amber was just 6. “That was her baby sister,” says Tonya. “Amber just loved her.”

Above all, there’s one urgent message Tonya wants to convey: Amber is making the necessary changes. “She’s left Gary,” Tanya tells Life & Style. “When she’s not with Gary, she’s fine. She’s looking for a better place to raise Leah. She’s seeing a therapist. She’s getting herself straightened out. She’s trying to turn her life around.

So how are things going with Jake and Taylor?

The new couple shared a happy Halloween weekend in California, starting with a stop at a pool in Big Sur. “Taylor laughed at everything Jake said,” a witness tells the new Us Weekly. “At one point, she measured herself against Jake on her tiptoes.” An observer adds that Gyllenhaal “held her hand.”

Then, late on Monday, Swift, 20, and Gyllenhaal, 29, stopped for an ice cream break at McConnell’s, 200 miles south in Santa Barbara. “They looked at all the flavors and couldn’t decide, so they asked the counter girls for help,” a staffer says of the duo, who were “happy” and “friendly.”

After savoring their treats inside McConnell’s for about 20 minutes, the pair split. When they were approached by excited college-age fans in the parking lot, they “happily obliged” for photos. Adds the staffer: “They smiled a ton!”

Jack Black stars in the new 3D film adaptation of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’.

Black plays a magazine mailroom clerk who talks his way into writing a piece on the Bermuda Triangle. Upon arriving, he gets sucked into a secret world — called Lilliput — where he’s much bigger than the native inhabitants.

The supporting cast looks more interesting to me than Black, who – to me plays the same character in every single movie. I love Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. Maybe they can make this movie more than just another “Jack Black” film.
