Singer Jennifer Lopez is the newest judge, alongside Steven Tyler, to take the judge’s seat on American Idol, but that doesn’t mean contestants should feel comfortable singing her songs.
“It was cute, super entertaining and flattering, but no,” the pop diva says of contestants who failed to make it through auditions by performing one of her hits.
“They know we’re not out to cut them down or make a joke of them,” she told reporters Thursday at a stop in Los Angeles. “We’re trying to mentor them to the next step.”

Thomas Beatie made headlines by being the first man to have a baby naturally (well, not exactly). Now, he wants to give the gift of life to someone else — by being a surrogate!

Thomas Beatie, the first transgender man to give birth, has a new bombshell to drop: “I want to be a surrogate,” he tells Life & Style. “When I was first approached with the idea, I thought it was crazy. Then I thought about what it means and what having a family means to us. I thought, This is a huge deal and I’m capable of it, why not?”
Thomas, 36, and wife Nancy welcomed their third child, son Jensen, in July and want other couples to experience the same joy. “If I can do this and help make another family fulfill their dream of having a child, then that’s what I want to do.”
Thomas also adds that he and his wife may want to add on to their own family. “If we don’t find the right family for surrogacy, I think I have one more person inside of me,” he tells Life & Style.
In light of the recent controversy surrounding her cover story for Shape magazine, LeAnn Rimes has pulled out of her appearance at the cover party! But it’s not what you think!
She’s sick, according to reports. And her no-show has nothing to do with the Editor of the publication issuing an apology for putting a “husband-stealer” on the cover of their magazine.
“Shape was excited to throw LeAnn the party,” the source tells PEOPLE. “The people at the magazine wanted her to know they were happy with the cover and wanted to maintain a good relationship with her.”
“Unfortunately [Rimes] caught the flu and under doctor’s orders was advised not to travel or go out,” her rep tells the New York Post.
Rimes herself tweeted Friday, “Headed to the Dr. in a bit. This flu thing is hard to shake. Just to clarify, I was never supposed to sing at the Shape party and yes, under Dr.’s orders I couldn’t go. I spoke to Valerie yesterday I don’t know how many times and all is well w/ absolutely NO controversy.”
She added: “Just happen to get sick at the ‘perfect’ time, SUCKS!!”

Miley Cyrus is going through a tough time these days with her parents divorcing…Now, we’ve learned that the Disney star has also ended her relationship with Australian boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.
Miley, who turns 18 on Nov. 23, is no longer dating her Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth, 20, according to a source. “Their on- and off-again relationship is currently off,” says the source. “But you never know with Miley and Liam. They could be back on at some point.”
Adds another source close to Hemsworth: “There was no drama. The relationship just ran its course. They were good friends first and remain friends.”
