“Extra” attended the 2010 AFI Fest Presented by Audi’s premiere of “The King’s Speech” and talked with its stars, Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, along with director Tom Hooper, about their Oscar-buzz movie and its significance.
Firth also commented on whether there will be a third “Bridget Jones” movie, saying, “I think there’s a chance. The writing department’s been busy. A sequel is one thing, but a third, now that they’ve aged a bit, could be far more interesting.”

“She was doing line after line like a pro — and she was 17 at the time.” – college student Brian Payne tells Life & Style of the night he spent partying with Demi
The intense pressure on Demi Lovato reached a breaking point when reps for the young star announced she “left her tour to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time,” issues such as cutting and eating disorders.
Now, new eyewitnesses confirm to Life & Style those problems are only exacerbated by the teenager’s heavy drinking and partying. Texas college student Brian Payne clearly remembers the night he spent hanging with Demi in North Richland Hills, Texas, where he saw her firsthand doing cocaine at a mutual friend’s house party on Dec. 28 last year. “She was doing line after line like a pro — and she was 17 at the time,” he tells Life & Style, recalling the wild party they attended after a concert by the band Neon Indian at the Granada Theater in Dallas. “I just remember her doing it as if she had been doing it for a long time. It didn’t seem like something new to her.” (more…)
Brittany Murphy’s mother is set to pay tribute to her late daughter in a new biography.
The Clueless actress passed away in December 2009 from pneumonia, and the tragedy was compounded when her husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack, died just five months later.
Their passings have since been tarred by a series of salacious rumours concerning missing money and claims Murphy’s mother, Sharon, slept in the same bed as her son-in-law after the actress died.
Sharon spoke out to deny the rumours at the time and she is now hoping to silence tabloid gossip about her daughter by telling her story in a new picture book.
In a statement released on what would have been Murphy’s 33rd birthday (10Nov10), she says, “This book will be my way of celebrating and honouring her extraordinary life and career. Brittany was a kind, loving person who enjoyed each day; she was my life. I am looking forward to everyone reading the accurate account about my daughter, her life, loves and career.”
A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to charity.
A source tells the new Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday) that the singer, 31, and husband Carey Hart, 35, are expecting their first child.
“She’s 12 weeks along,” says the insider. “She wanted to do it between tours, when she has some time off.”
The source adds that after the duo’s 2008 separation, “Pink was determined to make the relationship solid. Now she’s really happy, and she’s excited she got pregnant so fast! She’ll be a brilliant mother.”
And when Pink’s kid is born, it’ll need to be on it’s best behavior — the superstar thinks it’s important for parents to be tough on their children.
“I think parents need to beat the c**p outta their kids… I think the whole spanking thing and how it’s gotten all PC (politically correct) is for the birds,” she said.
“My dad put me through a wall; it’s the only reason I’m still alive.
“I deserved it. I would have kicked me out when I was eight… I was not comfortable with authority or rules. I was bad.”
The romantic comedy centers around two lifelong best friends (Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) who wage an war against one another after they both fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon).
