Ever since tapes leaked from Christian Bale’s raging rant on the set of ‘Terminator Salvation,’ the public learned that the real-life Batman is a very, very angry fellow. In a Q&A for Esquire’s December issue, Bale is the gift that keeps on giving, as he rips into acting and expresses how he loves it when people criticize him.

Bale says he’s got a huge ego, yet seems to hate himself, then comes off like Mr. Family Man. And oh yeah, he’s a big Chris Farley fan. Go figure.

On his acting career: “Well, it’s also just I’m bored s***less with myself.”

On being famous: “Well, it’s embarrassing to be a star. Most people look at you like, ‘That’s not a f—ing job, is it?’ And then on top of that, you learn very quickly that you’re just a tool — other people are manipulating everything you do, you’re at the mercy of editors, and there’s nothing you can do. But I learned that there’s a certain character that can be built from embarrassing yourself endlessly. If you can sit happy with embarrassment, there’s not much else that can really get to ya. The Sun reports that Prince of Persia actor Jake Gyllenhaal dropped about $160,000 over the weekend to fly his latest flame, Fearless songbird Taylor Swift, on a private jet from the United States to England so he could spend a little “us” time with her. Who says you can’t put a price on love?

Swift was due in London on Sunday to perform at the Radio 1 Teen Awards, but according to the Sun, Gyllenhaal, who was in town to promote his new movie Love and Other Drugs, ponied up for a private flight for her on Friday so that they could be together. A source says,

“Jake wanted some quality time with Taylor. If he hadn’t done this, they would have missed each other as he had to fly back to the States. He hired a jet which would easily have set him back £100,000.”

According to the paper, Swift and Gyllenhaal spent most of the weekend holed away in Jake’s hotel suite at the Dorchester.

Wow, that’s quite a gift! He must really like her!

Nick Lachey wishes nothing but the best for ex Jessica Simpson, who got engaged to Eric Johnson a week after Lachey, 47 37 (whoops!) popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo.

“I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best,” he told UsMagazine.com Monday.

As for his own engagement, he told Us he and Minnillo, 30, “still basking in the glow” of the news and “are enjoying that. I’m sure we’ll get on the other planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience.”

Asked why it took him so long to propose, he said, “All things have their appropriate time, so thank you.”

Reality TV’s most polarizing couple renewed their vows just before sunset late Sunday afternoon at a beachfront house in Carpenteria, CA.

On the romantic nuptials, Spencer tells ET, “[This time] it’s just me and my bride on a little secret beach with nobody else and it’s just about her. Versus last time it was about everything else, it was about drama, it was about ratings.” Heidi adds, “It was about everyone but us, so this is really our first wedding about Spencer and I and our love. Now I feel like I can finally just be Heidi and just be in a marriage and just be a person. I’m just really enjoying every day.”

The couple, who has gone public about being broke, had their dream wedding donated to them. “I hate fame,” Spencer says. “I love money. Being honest, I love money more than most people, so fame was the easiest way to get a lot of money fast and I learned that really quick.”
