Contradicting reports of distance between Scarlett Johansson and hubby Ryan Reynolds, the pair looked “very much in love” at Avenue Saturday night, according to a spy. Johansson and People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” cozied up at the Chelsea lounge as they partied with Kings of Leon stars Caleb Followill, there with fiancée Lily Aldridge, and his bandmate and brother Jared Followill.
Indeed, Ryan flew to NYC yesterday for Scarlett’s 26th birthday on Monday. And on Oct. 23, the two marked his 34th at Lincoln restaurant on the upper West Side with a group that included Scar-Jo’s siblings.
Reps for Reynolds and Johansson denied that the actors’ marriage was troubled.

In a new interview with Elle Magazine, Jessica Alba admits she almost quit acting after Fantastic Four. Which would have been the right thing to do, if you ask me. I have never been a Jessica Alba fan. I think she’s gorgeous, but she cannot act worth a dime.
In early November, Jessica made headlines for her controversial interview with Elle Magazine for its December issue, saying “good actors never use [scripts].” This agitated screenwriter John August, provoking him to bash her on his blog. But now the rest of the interview has leaked, and it gets a whole lot worse.
“[The director told me] ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.’ He was like, ‘Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.’”
That questionable bit of direction set Alba to a bad way of thinking. “I’m like, ‘But there’s no connection to a human being.’ And then it all got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don’t want me to be a person? Am I not allowed to be a person in my work? And so I just said, ‘F**k it. I don’t care about this business anymore.’”
Alba goes on to state that one reason some of her movies have underperformed at the box office: “First-time directors.”
