Police in Utah have wrapped up their investigation into the Sister Wives family, and have handed their findings off to prosecutors, who will decide whether or not to press charges.

Police were looking into whether or not the Brown family violated Utah’s anti-bigamy law, which is a felony.

The case focuses on Kody Brown and his wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn, whose lives are depicted on the TLC reality show that premiered last month.

The Utah County Attorney’s Office received the case from Lehi, Utah, police on Monday. Polygamy cases are extremely rare in the state and authorities say this one was prompted by the publicity from the show. The maximum penalty for felony polygamy is five years in prison.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Buhman said he didn’t know when a decision on charges would be made. “It varies. It could take months,” he tells E! News.

The Browns have said they were “disappointed” in the investigation but “knew there would be risks” in doing the show.

Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood tells US Weekly that she’s getting help for her serious anger problems.

Fans of the show (myself included) were completely shocked during the September 28 episode, when Amber attacked Gary Shirley, the father of her daughter, Leah. I was appalled when I watched that episode. Even in last night’s episode, I didn’t get the impression that Amber was working on her anger at all!

“A lot has changed,” Portwood, now in couple counseling with Shirley, tells Us Weekly. “I haven’t hit him since that fight.” (Local authorities in Anderson, Ind. reportedly launched an investigation after the incident aired, and MTV broadcast a domestic violence PSA during commercial breaks.)

The reality star admits she tries to avoid watching her violent outbursts onscreen (she attempted to choke Shirley in one episode last season).

“When I see myself in that position, it really opens my eyes,” Portwood says. “I want to stop it, because I don’t want to be like that.”

Toward that end, she’s working with a counselor “on how to calm down when things happen,” she reports. “We are getting close to finding a solution…If I get mad, I always try to think about Leah and how an [outburst] will affect her.”

How will she explain her televised violent behavior to her little girl? “I will teach Leah that what I’ve done wasn’t right.”

Things with Leah’s dad are up in the air, she confides. They started dating other people on the season finale and she tells Us, “I do love this man…but if we keep fighting then we can’t move forward.”

I’m glad there’s only one more episode, because I’m not sure I can take any more of April abusing Catelynn. April is the worst excuse for a mother I’ve ever seen. The way she criticizes Catelynn every single day makes my stomach turn. It’s April that’s ruining this show for me. The things she says, the way she treats Catelynn honestly makes me just want to cry. They should have locked April up as well when her husband went to jail. Scum like April doesn’t deserve to have children. What amazes me, is how great Catelynn turned out – considering. You know? How did she not turn into a punk? How did she end up so sweet?

Farrah continued her ugly-crying-face streak this episode. Oh DEAR LORD will someone make her stop CRYING!? She looks painful when she cries. Hell, it’s painful for me when she cries. If you’re going to cry four times during an episode, can you do me a favor and hold a book in front of your face? Thanks. PS: Kudos on finding a good eyeliner, Farrah! With eyeliner as thick as a caterpillar under her eyes at all time, one would think with all that crying, it would run all over her face. Wait – scratch that. Have you noticed that when she ugly-cries – there are never any tears? Hmm… interesting.

Maci, Maci, Maci. Well – we all saw it coming, right? Her boyfriend, who looks a bit challenged in the mental department, dumps her ass, a few weeks after she moved to Nashville to be closer to him. What in God’s name did she see in him in the first place? He has the personality of a tree slug! Well Maci and Bentley are now two hours from home, and all on their own. How many of you think she’s going to run back to mom and dad? I do! I do! In the previews for next week, Ryan makes a comment about getting back together. Aw hell naw!

The Hollywood legend’s longtime friend and rep Allen Burry tells ET this is the actor’s last week of radiation and chemo treatment. It will be followed up by at least six weeks of recuperation before he can begin to get back on his feet. The doctors are very pleased with how it has gone and no further treatments have been scheduled.
