Russell Brand and Katy Perry are getting married this weekend at a luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary in the Indian state of Rajasthan, a local tour operator told the AP on Thursday.
The British comedian and American pop star arrived Wednesday at Mumbai airport to begin their six-day celebration, which begins Saturday with a Hindu wedding ceremony conducted by a local priest at the Sher Bagh resort.
“This would be a colorful Rajasthan wedding, and both Brand and Perry would be attired in Indian wedding attires,” said Rajasthan Tours manager Mohan Singh, whose company is one of several involved in organizing the event.
Brand and Perry met at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009 and have made their affection for one another known with around-the-world PDA ever since.
Brand popped the question to Perry while the two were vacationing in India in December 2009, after dating for only four months.
Brand and Perry will be staying in a luxury tent at the Aman-i-Khas resort, just outside the sanctuary, with guests staying at the nearby Vanyavilas and Sher Bagh resorts, Singh said. Private security has already been stationed at the hotels.
Hoping to keep the event details secret, the couple had sent out wedding invitations saying simply that they were getting married in India and the celebrations would last for up to a week.
Katy Perry’s Twitter page also contains a plea for privacy: “TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift you can give us is respect and love during this private time. No use wasting our time with STOLEN or FALSE info. Thank you for this.”
The couple have given the exclusive coverage rights to a London magazine, and no other photographers or journalists will be allowed into the resort.
Guests, who also began arriving in India on Wednesday, are expected to include Barbadian pop singer Rihanna, the star of comedy show “Little Britain,” David Walliams. Also likely to attend is TV presenter Jonathan Ross, whom Brand joined in the infamous prank phone call to actor Andrew Sachs to boast that he had slept with the actor’s granddaughter.

Jennifer Lopez’s 2 1/2-year-old twins, Max and Emme, make their modeling debut as the faces of Gucci’s new children’s line, and the new Us Weekly has the first peek.
The twins appear in the ads along with mom. “It’s the first time I have worked with my kids in that way,” Lopez, 40, tells Us. She also says the twins “had fun” posing.
In honor of the collection, Gucci donated $1 million to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa initiative and $50,000 to Lopez’s charity the Maribel Initiative.
“It’s exactly why I’m excited to be a part of this,” says Lopez, who admits she and husband Marc Anthony were hesitant to have their kids participate until they learned of the charity connection. “Now there are two Gucci spokesbabies for a beautiful cause!”

Dianna Agron blogged about the controversy Wednesday night, apologizing to anyone who might be “hurt” or “uncomfortable” by the shot. She stressed, “We are not the first” public figures to pose provocatively.
“Nobody is perfect, and these photos do not represent who I am,” she wrote, adding that GQ “asked us to play very heightened versions of our school characters. A ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ version. At the time, it wasn’t my favorite idea, but I did not walk away.”
If parents are upset over the magazine, it is their job to keep it away from their children, not hers.
“If your 8-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry,” she wrote. “But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there?”

The day after news of her separation from husband Jordan Bratman broke last week, Christina Aguilera, who will appear on the December cover of REDBOOK, spoke exclusively to the magazine about how she was coping with the split.
“It’s not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness,” she said. “It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”
When asked about the details, rumors (of infidelity on both sides), and whether she and Jordan, whom she married in November 2005, had tried couples therapy to resolve their issues, Christina answered, “Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.
Her focus during this rough, emotional time, she said, was her son, who turns three in January. “Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe.”

Tina Knowles wants to set the record straight – Beyonce is not pregnant.
“I’m here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that’s it’s not Beyoncé that’s pregnant. It’s me,” Knowles says with a smile in an interview airing Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Really? “I’m kidding y’all. I’m 56. No, no, it’s not true [about Beyoncé]. Not right now.”
Tina has learned not to pay much attention all the speculation about whether her pop-star daughter, 29, is pregnant. “With all the rumors, by now I should have five or six grandchildren,” she says.
But when it does happen, she’ll be thrilled. “I’m looking forward to it,” she says.
