So what’s the secret to Victoria Beckham’s designing success? “I don’t do anything by halves,” she tells the Times. “If you’re going to do something, do it properly, I think. Otherwise there is no point in doing something at all.” That philosophy extends to her hands-on approach to the design of her wildly popular dresses—favored by A-listers like Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez. “I might get a piece of fabric and tie it around me, then ask an assistant to pin it for me,” she says. “I’m not claiming to be a master draper. The bottom line is: Would I wear this?” And that attention to detail, fit and construction is what has earned her respect among retailers and fashion editors alike, even if Posh herself admits that she has “a long, long way to go” as a designer. Still, there is one star client Beckham would love to add to her growing list: First lady Michelle Obama. “I really would love to dress her.”
Demi Moore recently tweeted a picture of herself in a bikini, and the photo spread like wildfire over the internet. Hell, if I looked like that in a bikini I’d be tweeting it as well! Shortly after the picture was posted, she put YouTube “celebrity” Dave Days in the same bikini and tweeted that as well.
“So Demi Moore asked me to do a parody… of herself. In her bikini. Yeah. Don’t ask,” Dave tweeted on Saturday with the picture below.
Demi retweeted the photos, writing, “I think U wore it better!”
Dave later tweeted that maybe Demi’s husband Ashton Kutcher wasn’t thrilled about Demi having a young man in their home, in her bikini. He wrote, ‘Ashton wasn’t so happy…’ It later turned out that Kutcher was in on the fun too.
Dave Days is internet phenomenon who gained notoriety 3 years ago when he started posting videos on YouTube of him parodying other people on the site.
Lisa Rinna also tweeted a bikini pic of herself this week in honor of her ‘idol’ Demi. “Doin the Demi! Power to the 47yr olds!!!!! She is my idol! ”
Perez Hilton also posted a highly-unnecessary picture of himself in his boxers.
Jessica Simpson enjoyed her Labor Day weekend with boyfriend Eric Johnson. “I met a wonderful man. Damn I’m lucky!” she tweeted on Sunday just before tweeting the photo above.
In other Jessica-Twitter news, she announced on Twitter today that she is remembering the love of her life, her dog Daisy on the anniversary of her disappearance.
“This day last year my life changed because I lost my baby Daisy Mae – the best pup of all time,” Simpson Tweeted Tuesday. “Give your dog some extra love today!!”
A year ago today Jessica lost her maltipoo after she was snatched by a coyote. “Today, pay tribute to sweet Daisy Mae by chasing a squirrel & eating some chicken! I miss her & love her so very much!” Simpson wrote in a separate post Tuesday.
The war of words between Wyclef Jean and Sean Penn continues! After Sean’s public doubts of Wyclef’s presidential bid in Haiti, Wyclef is fighting back – alleging Penn was “too busy sniffing cocaine” to notice Jean’s presence in Haiti after an earthquake devastated the nation in January.
The insult came during a concert performance this weekend where Wyclef changed the lyrics to his 2004 hit ‘President,’ singing: “I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine.”
When Wyclef announced that he intended on running for president in Haiti, Penn quickly cast his doubt on CNN’s Larry King. “I have to say I’m very suspicious of it, simply because he, as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent. For those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence.”
Sean Penn’s rep quickly wrote a vehement denial of cocaine use, telling JustJared:
“Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”
Jean was disqualified from the presidential running when he did not meet Haitian residency requirements.
