Jennifer Aniston imitates Barbara Streisand for Harper’s Bazaar UK

Jennifer Aniston, who stars in the new comedy The Switch, pays homage to the legendary Streisand in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands Aug. 17.

On being a funny girl: “People laugh at me. Sometimes I know why, and sometimes I don’t. But I can pretty much find humor in anything. That is a necessary part of life. I don’t want to say laughter is healing, because it sounds corny, but it’s a release.”

On being in the spotlight: “[Barbra and I] are people who have been put in the spotlight, for better or for worse, and you just keep riding, and you keep overcoming.”

On looking up to Streisand: “Barbra inspires me because there isn’t anything she hasn’t done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She’s a true renaissance woman. … I had a long conversation with Barbra about directing because I directed a short a couple years ago, and if I don’t do it again soon, I’m going to burst out of my skin. And we also love interior design.”

Drew Barrymore in Marie Claire UK!

Drew Barrymore opens up to Marie Claire UK about dating, tweeting and phone sex. Check out these clips from the interview below! Check out the full interview here!

Drew on dating:

‘I’m happy to say that, at 35 years old, I feel I know less than ever,’ she says with a smile. ‘But in a liberating way. I’m trying to figure out how to make relationships work. The only thing I know is that there aren’t any rules. There should be no infrastructure on how a couple is supposed to work. Life isn’t like that.’

On computers, tweeting, etc.:

‘I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over- information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world,’ she says. ‘If you meet someone, they already know everything. What about showing up on the date and saying, “What do you do for a living? Who are your friends?” Yes, you can avoid maybe a serial killer, but who fucking knows? I am a romantic and it scares me…’

On love:

‘I’m not an aficionado on the subject right now,’ she admits. ‘Some of the things I thought were a certain way have revealed themselves to be quite different, so I feel very awake and very open-hearted and open-minded. I’d like to approach certain things differently. I feel like I’m learning a lot right now. I’m not the teacher, I’m the student – I want to try new things.’

On phone sex:

‘Oh, I’ve had successful phone sex – it can work,’ she says with a twinkle in her eye. ‘I think it’s f**king weird – it’s super weird. I totally tried it, though, with a little success at one point in my life, but it was just a thing you try, like wearing orange for a while. I don’t think it’s something I could live my life with. What makes me happy right now is something very tangible and that’s the people I know that I really, really like and love and get such a sense of happiness from. My tribe.’

Trouble in paradise for Angelina Jolie?

In a slew of uncharacteristically personal interviews, Angelina Jolie has been telling the world what a “happy home” she has, and how she makes a point of spending concentrated time with her six children, bragging that she makes them bacon and eggs every morning. But at the Claremont Hotel Club & Spa in Oakland — the California city where their dad, Brad Pitt, is filming Moneyball — Angelina’s sons Pax, 6, and Maddox, 9, seemed to feel otherwise. In the “club” area of the hotel at around 3 p.m. on July 30, a witness reports, the boys chattered animatedly with a blond nanny, a bodyguard and two other young boys as the nanny ordered burgers and fries for them. “At one point, Maddox and Pax got into a brotherly spat over some ketchup,” the witness recalls. “The nanny firmly said, ‘Mad, let Paxie have some ketchup.’ Maddox said, ‘Mom, do I have to?’ and Pax was whining, ‘Mom, make him give me some.’” Throughout the lunch, the witness says, the boys repeatedly called their nanny “mom” — something that, shocking as it sounds, isn’t surprising to some who know Angelina. “Angelina is gone so much working or in meetings that the kids do spend most of their time during the day with the nannies,” a family friend says, adding, “Publicly, Angelina would not like the hired help to be seen, but they are there and all of the kids are so attached to them, they are like family — whether Angelina wants to believe that or not.”
