Injured Galaxy midfielder David Beckham is “probably a bit too old” to play for England again, Coach Fabio Capello told Britain’s ITV Sport on Wednesday.

“Thank you, David,” Capello added.

Beckham, 35, was unable to play for England in the World Cup after rupturing his Achilles’ tendon injury in March while on loan to AC Milan from the Galaxy. He wound up serving as a member of Capello’s backroom staff during the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Beckham has resumed training in Los Angeles, where he told reporters he has set a mid-September return date for himself. (Pics of him practicing this afternoon!)

“The doctor said Oct. 1 but I hope it can be a few weeks before that,” he said. “I’ll know personally when I’m right. It’s my knowing if I’m right or not.”

Beckham has played in 115 games for England, second only to goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s 125.

On cheating:

“I think that when you have gotten things out of your system, you are less tempted by distractions. My only temptations now are chocolate and martinis. I think the hardest thing about cheating would not be the physical act; it would be the trust you break. If you decide to take that person back, you have to make a deal to trust again. I’m very happy with where my life is, but for someone like Alicia, whose husband has jumped in bed with a sexpot, the temptation of being sexually desirable is huge.”

On the time when she felt like a great wife:

“There was one perfect day recently when I got up at 5:30 with the baby, went to work at 6:30 for 12 hours, grocery shopped, cooked dinner, and then later, my husband and I made love. We both looked at each other that night and said, “This day will never happen again!”

On how her TV career began:

“ER was my breakout role. I auditioned on a whim. When I got that part, my character was originally supposed to die. At one point George Clooney called me and said, “I think you are going to live.” And I was on the show for six seasons.”

“Knowing. I’m a believer in “Ignorance is bliss.”

“Not sleeping for a day. I think the whole world should try not talking for a day.”

TMZ, RadarOnline and other sites are playing the frantic 911 call that was placed after Fantasia attempted suicide Monday night. I think this is in pretty poor taste, so I’ve decided not to play it. You won’t have trouble finding it – if you want to hear it, though.

A caller dialed 911 Monday night and informed the operator that someone had just ingested “a bottle of aspirin”. The caller, who was outside Fantasia’s home at the time, told the operator that Fantasia was losing consciousness, and family members had moved her into the shower.

Fantasia is in a North Carolina hospital where her rep says she is in “stable condition.”

Having the wedding in Israel was important to the couple because they met there a year ago, after James had separated from his wife of six years, Heather Ann McComb. “I first noticed Kimberly in Jaffa,” says the deeply spiritual actor, who was studying kabbalah in that ancient city. “I was telling my friend and teacher Shalom [who was at the wedding] that after everything I’d been through, I finally felt ready for a relationship — someone I could grow old with, change with…a soul mate. I was in midsentence when, from behind us, a female voice interrupted. At first I was annoyed — who had the nerve to butt in on such an important revelation? Then I turned around and saw her.”
