Beyonce on the cover of SELF Magazine

Beyonce speaks up about her charity work:

It all started when she was growing up in Houston, going to church with her family. “Pastor Rudy is still my pastor. I watched my parents get involved in [community charities] there, and that taught me how important it is to ‘give ’til it hurts.’ I saw how happy you could make people, whether just giving someone a hug, having a conversation or spending some time, and it became a part of me.”

“I’ve always felt that you should give because it’s what you can do to help. You don’t do it to get praised. For a long time, being quiet about what I did was a conscious decision. “When you look around at all that’s wrong in the world, the need to do something, no matter how big or how small, is clear.”

Donated her entire salary:
Beyoncé was quiet, for instance, about the fact that after she visited Phoenix House, a drug and alcohol treatment center, as part of her research for 2008’s Cadillac Records, she donated her entire salary from the film to the organization.

What motivates me:

“Sisterhood means everything to me. All the charities I’m involved with are special, but I find any organization that focuses on women and children really motivating. GEMS and the young ladies the nonprofit helps are very close to my heart. And what I took away from the clients at Phoenix House changed my life. These were real people who touched me so much that I had to go beyond making a donation. They’re gaining skills at the Cosmetology Center, which will help them earn a living and find their way out of substance abuse—it’s a testament to the possibility of second chances.”

Who inspires me:

“My mother, Tina Knowles. She’s an incredibly loving person who is the first to make time for others.”

My proudest accomplishment:

“Singing “At Last” for President Barack Obama on his inauguration night was a personal accomplishment for me, both as a performer and an American.”

My recharge routine:

“I love going to dinners, seeing plays, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends. I know it’s time to jump back into my work when everything I do starts inspiring lyrics and melodies and I can’t keep myself out of the studio.”

One place in my life I’m not a perfectionist:

“I promise I’m working on this, but I could be less messy at home and keep the clothes in my closet and off the floor!”

Heidi Montag admits to sex tape, wants to talk $$

Heidi Montag originally denied Spencer Pratt’s claims of a sex-tape. Now she’s singing a new tune (shocking, I know). According to TMZ, she’s privately acknowledging the tape, and she wants to talk money.

Heidi and Spencer are currently in Costa Rica together, and from the looks of it, Vivid Entertainment honcho Steve Hirsch is headed their way to talk business. He’s reportedly going to make an offer on the sex tapes, which are said to include Heidi getting down and dirty with Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon.

Heidi has asked to see the numbers on Kim Kardashian’s sex tape which was also released by Vivid. She is working on securing a “back-end deal” that will make her the most money – even if they can’t give her enough up front to satisfy her demands.

Knife-wielding man tries to break in to Paris Hilton’s home!

Paris Hilton had quite a scary morning! According to her Twitter, she claims a man with “2 big knifes” tried to break into her Los Angeles home this morning. (She also Tweeted the picture below, showing the cops at her house)

So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him

According to TMZ, police confirm that a man in his 40′s was arrested at Paris’ home at around 6:30 AM. Paris told the police that the man was banging on her windows – but never got inside. Sources tell TMZ that Paris saw the man on her security cameras and called police immediately. Police told Paris that the man was definitely armed and dangerous – and it was a good thing he didn’t get inside.

Scary!!

In other news, her dog Mugsy is pretty cute. She recently adopted the rescued Pug. She took him shopping yesterday (pics below) at Fred Segel where she picked out more clothes than she could carry. She was helped out to her car by several Fred Segel employees.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ news – and a premiere date!

In Grey’s Anatomy news, creator Shonda Rhimes tells TV Guide that for the first time, there are no plans to add additional members to the cast for season 7. “We’re full up” she said.

Over the last couple years, the show has added four regulars: Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), Teddy (Kim Raver), April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams). More from TV Guide:

Audiences will get to know Jackson and April much better once they move in with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) this season. Pompeo says Meredith and April, whose crush on Derek (Patrick Dempsey) proved nearly fatal, will bond this season — which may help audiences change their feelings toward April.

Shonda Rhimes: Grey’s Anatomy docs all grown up in new season

“Meredith will accept April in order to get the audience to accept her,” says Pompeo, who hopes Mer will be there to guide the new docs through their surgical residency.

“I feel like Meredith and Cristina [Sandra Oh] are much further along in their careers than April and Jackson,” she continues. “The audience hasn’t seen them go through as much training as they’ve seen us go through. I would love there to be a teaching element as opposed to them being our contemporaries.”

Grey’s Anatomy returns for its seventh season Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on ABC.

I don’t know about you – but the finale of season 6 was probably the best yet. It was soooo good! Two doctors were left dead, some were left in limbo. It was just so good! Can’t wait to see what happens next! I’m glad the show had turned around – I almost gave up here a couple seasons ago. Course I’m all talk, I’ll probably watch it until the bitter end whether it’s good or not.

Christina Applegate is pregnant and adorable at the ‘Going the Distance’ premiere.

Christina Applegate, who also stars in Going the Distance, showed up at the premiere last night looking radiant. This is Christina’s first baby with husband Martyn Lenoble.

While on the red carpet last night, Christina opened up to PEOPLE about what kind of mother she thinks she’ll be. “I’ll probably be a little bit hippie and a little bit Type A,” the actress, 38, said.  “I’ll take from what my mother did, which was way hippie and like ‘Do what you wanna do,’ and bring some things that I know from watching my friends raise their kids. An amalgamation of sorts.”

Sponsored Post: Hollywood’s Five Most Innovative Influencers

Who would you consider to be the most innovative influencers in Hollywood? I was recently asked this question, and I really had fun thinking about who I consider to be the most innovative people in Hollywood today. Who is bringing something new to Hollywood? Who’s changing things up? Who’s looking forward and making Hollywood more interesting, bringing us into the future?

It seems these days that it’s hard to find an original idea in Hollywood. Movies are recycled, actors are making the same dull movies. It’s something spectacular when someone thinks outside of the box, and gives us something new and exciting! I can think of 5 entertainers who have done this in the past couple years, and I thought I’d share them with you (in no particular order).

#1 Sandra Bullock – How could I not mention Sandra Bullock? How could I not looooove the woman who gives us flops like What About Steve and hits like The Proposal in the same year? Sandra’s had a pretty rough year this year personally, with the very public breakup of her marriage to Jesse James. When the scandal hit – she withdrew from public, all the while adopting a gorgeous little boy from Louisiana. She’s now raising little Louis Bardot Bullock as a single parent in Austin, Texas.

While Sandra rose to fame in the 90′s, last year was definitely her most successful. The Blind Side (looove it!) not only earned her the Golden Globe, but also the Acadamy Award!

Sandra is probably my favorite actress. She’s one of those actresses who I’ll see whatever she’s in, no matter how good or bad the movie is. The Proposal and The Blind Side are arguably two of my favorite movies of all time. As of 2009, her movies have grossed over $3 billion. Not only does she act, but she also runs her own production company (Fortis Films) and owns a couple restaurants in Texas.

#2 Lady Gaga – I love Lady Gaga. Back in 2008 I had the opportunity of seeing her (front row!!) at a tiny venue in Portland, Oregon in front of – get this – 700 people. 700 people! These days 700 people would be sitting in the first couple rows! After the show, I was first in line to meet her, and I got her autograph. It was official, I was a Gaga fan.

My sister caught her Monster Ball Tour on Thursday when she came through town, and it was a sold-out show of 20,000 people. In 2008 she was new – and exciting – and I had never really heard of her before. She was that singer who did the wacky performance on So You Think You Can Dance.  She’s mesmerizing, she’s original, she’s exciting. She’s just as innovative today as she was two years ago. Even if you’re not a huge Lady Gaga fan, you have to admit that she’s original, and whenever she does something new – you’re going to check it out.

She has just taken the #1 spot on Twitter with the most followers, and Billboard predicts her Monster Ball tour will gross $200 million. As of this month, she has sold more than 13 million albums, and 51 million singles worldwide. Not bad for a 24 year old girl from NYC.

#3 Christopher Nolan – I loved Inception so much, I’m giving Christopher Nolan a spot on my list. Like I said earlier, it’s really hard these days to catch a new and exciting movie. New ideas seem to be a thing of the past. But Inception is different. It’s exciting and could be summed up with one word: innovative. I haven’t seen a Christopher Nolan movie that I didn’t love. Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight - each of these movies are spectacular.

Inception – in my opinion – is his best work to date. Yes, I loved, loved, loved Memento. But there was something about Inception. It was so brilliantly done. (I probably should put Leonardo DiCaprio in this list, because I love him – and I think he’s very influential!) It was exciting, and it kept you guessing right up until the end. After the movie was over, I immediately wanted to see it again – and I talked about it for weeks. That’s the sign of a great movie.

# 4 Beyonce Knowles -Beyonce is just spellbinding. Whenever she releases new material you have to take notice. She’s beautiful and innovative, and constantly changing the world of not only music – but fashion as well. Her fashion line House of Dereon (which she runs with her mother) brings in millions every year.

Not only does she dominate the music industry, her business empire is expanding it seems like almost every day! She has sizable endorsement deals with the likes of Pepsi, Tommy Hilfiger, Armani,  Nintendo to L’Oreal (to the tune of $5 million!)

Her R&B girl group Destiny’s Child was one of the worlds best-selling girl groups of all time.  In 2003 she released her solo album Dangerously in Love, which went on to earn Beyonce five Grammys that year. She is one of the most honored artists by the Grammys, earning 16 trophies to date. She grossed $86 million during her 93-stop tour!

#5 James Cameron – This one seems a bit obvious, but he’s definitely a must for this list. Back in 1994, Cameron began writing Avatar. He was supposed to begin work on on the film immediately following his 1997 hit Titanic, but because technology wasn’t ready – he waited. And waited. When technology finally caught up with Cameron, he began filming in 2005. In 2009, the mega-blockbuster hit the screen to rave reviews. Not only did Avatar become the highest grossing film of all time, it also grossed – are you sitting down – over $2 BILLION DOLLARS!

America’s first 4G phone is also the first to deliver download speeds up to 10x faster than 3G and be a mobile hotspot for up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices. Not to mention front and rear-facing cameras and the ability to stream live video to the Web. And you get access to over 65,000 apps you’ve come to expect from an Android. So the only question is, what will you do first with EVO? sprint.com/firsts
