In news we all saw coming, Bethenny Frankel quits RHONY

After three seasons, Bethenny Frankel exclusively tells Us Weekly she is leaving the hit Bravo show.

“Last season was scary and painful,” she tells Us about why she’s rejected Bravo’s offers to return for season 4, which begins filming Sept. 20, according to a source. “It took all of the joy out of it.”

Last season, Frankel, 39, continued to fight with rival Kelly Killoren Bensimon, but it was her intense feud with former BFF Jill Zarin that hurt her the most. Zarin, 46, bad-mouthed Frankel to their castmates – and even tried to get some not to film with her (she has since apologized).

Frankel — who welcomed daughter Bryn in May with husband Jason Hoppy — tells Us she doesn’t “see any reason to go back.”

This summer, she debuted her own spinoff show, Bethenny Getting Married? The June 10 premiere attracted more than 2 million viewers — about the same as RHONY averaged in season 3 — the highest rated debut for a new Bravo show.

Though a Bravo insider reveals that Frankel is contractually bound to make a few appearances on RHONY next season, the network is still hoping that she’ll come back full-time. But Frankel (whose empire includes books, Skinnygirl margaritas and a Body by Bethenny DVD) tells Us, “My gut’s saying not to be part of this cast.”

Kristen Bell opens up about turning 30, and her fiance, Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell recently turned 30, and she loved it! (Not me, I freaking panicked!) But Kristen insists she’s happier than ever, especially since becoming engaged to actor/comedian Dax Shepard. She talks with Parade Magazine about these latest milestones:

On recently turning 30.

“I love 30 more than I’ve ever loved anything. I feel like I was born on my 30th birthday. It’s finally the time where I’ve fully accepted and loved myself, which I’m realizing more and more each day — it is so important to love yourself. Because if you don’t love yourself than nothing really matters. For a long time, I went through life kind of beating myself up and trying to be a perfectionist and do everything right and I just thought, ‘What’s the point?’ I have faults, that’s fine. I can still strive to be better, but I’m not going to be as rough on myself as I used to and it’s just kind of alleviating all of this stress and kind of taken a weight off my shoulders and I think now I’m just happy.”

What’s she’s looking forward to most in her next decade.

“Anything and everything that my 30s have to throw at me. Part of the great place that I’m in is that I’m not planning as much anymore. I have goals, but my main goal is just to be happy. And if I plan everything out I just feel that’s what crazes your brain and messes you up and makes you feel like a failure. Wherever you are right now is OK. That’s kind of been my mantra.”

Finding comfort in her engagement to Dax Shepard.

“I never loved dating. I think it’s very uncomfortable to put yourself out there and be vulnerable. I’m much more comfortable in a relationship and I’m very happy.”

They’re not your typical Hollywood couple.

“I’m definitely a homebody. I don’t know if I’ve been to a club in the last seven years, at least not one that I was forced to go to because it was for a friends’ birthday party. I’m not much for the club atmosphere, but I don’t drink so that may have something to do with it! I love to cook and I have a garden at home and I’m much more like a 1950s housewife, I think.”

Samantha Ronson center of criminal investigation!

Story from E! Online:

The dog mauling left Samantha Ronson “incredibly sad.” Depending on what investigators find out, things could be getting worse.

The celeb DJ and her bulldog Cadillac are at the center of a probe by animal control officials after the pooch’s fatal attack yesterday on another dog in Ronson’s apartment building.

“It’s a pending criminal prosecution,” Deputy Director Michelle Roache of the Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control exclsuively tells E! News. “The attack is substantial.”

Roache says the department will investigate all allegations made against the dog, gather evidence, and then present their case to the district attorney. Similar attacks have resulted in felony charges.

“It’s all up to the courts whether or not a person is going to lose the right to own the dog, or that the dog be euthanized, or that there’s restrictions against the dog,” says Roache.

“They vary from [sentences where] the person can’t own any dogs in the county of Los Angeles, to the court demanding the dog for euthanasia, or a lot of times they have to pay a fine. I haven’t seen people jailed for an incident like this.”

Roache says the department will investigate whether Cadillac has been involved in previous attacks.

“We have to backtrack into past incidents and find people who are involved or have any knowledge of the dog’s behavior,” says Roache.

Roache says the investigation will be “a long, lengthy process,” probably taking between two and three months.

In the meantime, Roache says the dog can stay with Ronson or her family members since it did not attack a person.

“We don’t believe there was a bite to any person,” says Roache. “If the dog has bitten a person it has to be quarantined for 10 days and we don’t allow the dog to leave the state.”

Ronson has reportedly shipped Cadillac off to New York to be with her family, and Roache says this is an acceptable arrangement.

“If there’s no proper way to resolve the incident and confine the dog safely so that it does not occur to anyone else during the filing of the criminal case, and we feel that the dog is a threat, then we would impound the dog,” says Roache. “If they have another address where it has more responsible people or better confinement, that’s something that is preferable over putting an animal in a shelter.”

Ronson’s rep has not responded to requests for comment. In a tweet last night, Ronson said, “I feel incredibly sad and wish I could offer more than condolences, unfortunately there are no words to describe how sorry I am.”

Maura Tierney’s character will have cancer on ‘Rescue Me’

When Maura Tierney returns in the final season of Rescue Me, her character will be battling cancer, the disease Tierney was recently treated for in real life, the show’s co-creator tells TVGuide.com.

After Tierney received a clean bill of health, Rescue Me co-creators and executive producers Denis Leary and Peter Tolan approached the 45-year-old actress about portraying her character, Kelly McPhee, in the middle of receiving cancer treatment. After some thought, she agreed, Tolan said.

Tolan says Tierney, who will appear with what he calls a “buzz cut,” even helped fine-tune the story.

“We wrote like dopes. We haven’t had cancer, and we wrote stuff that was a touch melodramatic perhaps,” Tolan says. “She got me on the phone one time, and we had the most fascinating conversation. She tried to explain to me what it felt like and what was going through her mind. … It actually took me a long time to figure out what she was saying.”
