The Department of Public Health has started to investigate the possibility that the deaths of Brittany Murphy & Simon Monjack could be due to mold found in their home.

The mold was found after Brittany’s death but investigators determined it not to be a factor. However, since Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack died on May 23, they are now considering that mold may have actually been a cause.

Brittany Murphy’s mother Sharon finds this whole idea absurd and had this to say about it.

“I have never been personally asked by the coroner or anyone from the Health Department to come and inspect my home for mold,” Sharon told the mag. “In the last eight months, I have been through the most unimaginable events, which no one could ever fathom. I have and will continue to be very cooperative and fully comply with any such request.”

Adding, “It’s absurd that this kind of misinformation is being reported by the media.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Simon Monjack died from pneumonia and severe anemia and Murphy’s cause of death was determined to be anemia, pneumonia and multiple drug intoxication (including prescription medications, not illegal drugs) and was officially ruled an accident.

Personally I don’t think mold was a factor, but I guess anything is possible.

Mark Ruffalo is the new Hulk, Marvel Studios announced when unveiling the cast of the 2012 sequel ‘The Avengers’ at Comic Con on Saturday.

The decision follows a dramatic dismissal of the previous Hulk, Edward Norton. Two weeks ago Marvel released a harsh statement announcing that Norton, who played Bruce Banner and his green alter-ego in the 2008 movie, would not be returning. The statement insisted the decision was not about money and suggested Norton was not a team player.

Norton’s rep called the statement “purposefully misleading” and described the decision as a financial one.

Eric Bana first played the Hulk in 2003.

Ruffalo joins an ensemble cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sam Jackson, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.

“It’s like Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet, a new actor gets a crack at it every year,” Ruffalo told the LA Times. “But really it’s all heady stuff. It’s exciting to be here. It’s great to be a part of all this.”
