After separating earlier this year, Kate Winslet and director hubby Sam Mendes are giving their marriage another shot. The couple, who split after nearly seven years of marriage, have one son, Joe, and raise Winslet’s daughter, Mia, from the actress’s previous marriage to director Jim Threapleton.

Winslet and Mendes were introduced by mutual friend Emma Thompson in 2001 after Winslet ended her marriage to Threapleton. The pair married in 2003.

Although the couple made the announcement of their amicable split less than four months ago, Newser reports that Winslet and Mendes are spending the summer together trying to “reignite their spark” at one of their homes in England.

“Sam has always been able to walk away from girlfriends before, but now there are children involved he wants to see if he can work it out with Kate,” a source says.

UPDATE: Booooo, looks like this may be too good to be true. A rep for Mendes tells Gossip Cop there’s absolutely “no truth” to this reconciliation rumor. Dawnit!
