Katy Perry has no plans on becoming the next Lindsay Lohan.

She explained, “I don’t end up wasted with my face down in alleyways. I kinda like steer the ship pretty good, so that I don’t hit any icebergs…I drink when it’s, like, vacation time.”

It was just announced this week that Katy will be hosting the Teen Choice 2010 Awards, which will air on August 9th.

Poor Lindsay Lohan, she just can’t catch a break! The star’s personal assistant, Elinore quit on Wednesday! Sources tell TMZ that the poor lady was “exhausted” and had “had enough of Lindsay’s demands.”

TMZ went on to say that Elinore had only held the position for a few months and was beside herself when Lindsay ordered her to remain by her side for “days on end”.

It’s only the latest drama surrounding Lindsay. She’s currently wearing a SCRAM (alcohol-monitoring) bracelet after missing probation hearings related to a drug and drink-driving arrests.

Then this week, it was reported that Lindsay’s SCRAM bracelet actually gave a positive reading, indicating Lindsay had consumed alcohol. The judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest, but it warrant was quickly recalled after her bond was paid.

According to TMZ, “Mad Men” actress January Jones allegedly slammed into three parked cars and left the scene.

LAPD tells TMZ January was driving a Range Rover around 9PM when she allegedly lost control, hit the other cars and caused some major damage. We’re told a witness reported the accident to police and claimed that January fled on foot after saying, “I can’t deal with this commotion.”

Police tell us that while officers were on scene investigating January returned and claimed she fled because paparazzi were trailing her.

January was not cited or arrested, but her car was impounded and police have launched an investigation. Police say no alcohol or drugs were involved.

UPDATE:  Police tell TMZ Jones told them she was at The London West Hollywood Hotel watching the Lakers lose and then drove home.  She says several paparazzi started following her and she lost control of her car and struck 3 parked vehicles.  Jones says the photogs were harassing her so she left her license and walked a half a block to her home and called 911.  The dispatcher told Jones cops had just arrived on scene so she returned.  We’re told there will not be a hit-and-run investigation.

As prosecutors in Peru prepared charges against Joran van der Sloot in the strangling death of a 21-year-old woman, police told NBC News on Thursday the Dutch man admits knowing the location of the remains of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

Van der Sloot remains the lone suspect in Holloway’s disappearance — exactly five years to the day before Stephany Flores was killed in Peru.

Police sources told NBC News van der Sloot is now willing to tell authorities in Aruba where to find the Alabama teenager’s remains.

Van der Sloot was moved to a cell at the prosecutor’s office in advance of filing charges in what police called a remarkably complete confession in the killing of Flores, the daughter of a circus promoter and former race car driver whom he met playing poker at a casino.

“We’ve practically closed the case,” criminal police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia told The Associated Press.

Sheathed in a bulletproof vest, the young Dutchman was driven less than a mile across central Lima during rush hour in a police caravan escorted by motorcycle officers.

Guardia said Van der Sloot “confessed with a wealth of details that have been corroborated through criminal investigative rigor.”

Guardia denied any suggestion that Van der Sloot’s confession was forced. He said a translator assigned by the Dutch Embassy was present, as was a state-appointed defense attorney.

The attorney for the slain girl’s family, Edwar Alvarez, told the AP that prosecutors have until 8 a.m. Friday morning to file charges. Otherwise, Van der Sloot would have to be freed.

It’s not clear what Van der Sloot will be charged with, NBC News reported. There are several options under Peruvian law:

* Premeditated aggravated murder — up to a 35-year sentence
* Simple murder — up to 20 years
* Murder “as result of violent emotion” — from 3 to 5 years in prison
* “Injury that leads to death” — 1 to 3 years in prison

Confessions help reduce a sentence, but likely not much for a case like this, according to Peruvian legal sources.

Not everyone thinks “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Apparently that’s the case with Madonna, who reportedly sees Lady Gaga as quite the copycat, and is often irritated when she sees a clip of her performing.

Despite telling folks she finds Gaga “really annoying,” the veteran superstar does admit her younger rival is a talented pianist and musician.

“It just bugs Madonna that Lady Gaga uses fashion and her performance style in a way that has so many people calling her ‘the new Madonna.’ … Madonna thinks she is unique and there cannot be a younger version of something that is unique.”

“I know,” added the source with a laugh. “Ego, ego, ego.”

While I agree that Lady Gaga seems to be imitating Madonna shamelessly, what does Madonna expect? She’s over 50 now – time to pass the baton. Can’t hold that spot forever!
