When Lady Gaga released her controversial new video, Alejandro, (watch it here!) people of course had something to say about it. Katy Perry was one of them, and she Twittered: “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.”
But now, 25-year-old Katy Perry is insisting she wasn’t bashing Gaga, 24.
“Lately, I’ve just been seeing some things that are kind of… not something I would do, I guess,” Perry — who grew up with strict religious parents, both ministers — explained during an interview with a French radio station Sunday.
“Like, you know when Madonna was on the cross? And, like, sometimes my boyfriend will say things that are ehhh…” she said, referring to fiance Russell Brand. “From where I come from, it’s hard for me to say that….”
“[People say] I’m a very hypocritical person, ‘How do you say that and [sing], ‘I Kissed a Girl’?” she went on. “Spirituality and sexuality are two separate things. When you decide to put it into the same subject, it gets interesting for some people.”
“Everyone knows… I’ve said 100 times on my Twitter: I’m one of the biggest Lady Gaga and Madonna and Russell Brand fans,” she said. “Some people have different view points.
Renee Zellweger is in Paris, France, while boyfriend Bradley Cooper promotes his latest movie, A-Team. Renee and Bradley showed up at L’Ami Louis for a late night dinner around 11:00PM last night, and while they were there, new couple Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy were also dining. The two couples didn’t mean to meet up, but once they did, they decided to make it a double date! The couples pushed their tables together, and enjoyed each other’s company until after midnight. At that point the foursome hit the hotel bar!
