At the tender age of 69, Wonder Woman is losing the hotpants and her maker has given her pants instead!

The new costume, created by celebrated artist and DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, is made up of a red top with the signature “WW” logo; a cropped blue biker jacket with white stars; and skin-tight navy blue pants and matching boots.

“The bracelets are still there, but made more colorful, tied on the inside and over the hand, with a script W on each of them that form WW when she holds them side by side…and if you get hit by one of them, it leaves a W mark,” said writer J. Michael Straczynski, in a post on DC Comics’s “The Source.” “This is a Wonder Woman who signs her work.”

J. Michael Straczynski – who penned the screenplay for Angelina Jolie’s 2008 drama “Changeling” – is taking over the comic book series, and he told the New York Times that he’s excited about Wonder Woman’s new wardrobe.

“She’s been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941,” Straczynski said. “If you’re going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility.”

And besides, he added, “What woman only wears only one outfit for 60-plus years?”

The new look will be unveiled in issue number 600, which hits newstands today!

After performing at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto a couple weeks ago, Katy Perry injured herself dancing and landed in the hospital for 17 stitches.

The UK’s Daily Mail writes that Perry, 26, “cut her leg open after falling over during an energetic dance session at a Toronto nightclub.” Details are scarce, but Perry did tweet briefly about the injury, and has since taken to performing with a skin-colored bandage on her right leg.

“17 stitches later… Don’t make fun of my dance moves tomorrow. That’s what got me here in the 1st place! Thanks for the souvenir Canada,” she wrote on Twitter.

With no hesitation Katy Perry plants a big wet smooch on a gal pal while exiting the Hotel Plaza Athenee Paris.

Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky may have hinted that she ends up alone, but the new issue of Us Weekly confirms there’s a proposal on the finale — and she accepts! In fact, the former Facebook ad sales rep, 25, is planning a West Coast wedding in early 2011. Another friend isn’t surprised she’s engaged: “She did the show because she was ready to settle down and get married.” While Fedotowsky is legally required to keep mum until the Aug. 2 finale (taped in Bora Bora) airs, she recently copped to a few day dream fantasies. “I don’t like to be glammed up,” she tells Us. “I’d want the dress to be really simple, my hair to be natural and I plan on wearing Converse sneakers!”

I don’t buy this one bit. I believe this story instead. I bet there is a proposal, but I bet she ends up alone… Call me crazy.

Okay, I watched the whole trailer, and I’m not gonna lie – I think it looks fantastical. I will totally watch it! I’ll probably hate myself along the way, but I know I’m going to watch it – and I’m gonna like it!
