News anchorman Matt Lauer has angrily dismissed reports suggesting he and his wife have split.

“The Today Show” host was alleged to have cheated on his wife of 12 years, Annette, with a relative of Whitney Houston’s while he was covering the Winter Olympics in Vancouver earlier this year.

But he insists that story and another one suggesting he had moved out of the family’s home are works “of fiction.”

Lauer tells People magazine, “I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple. I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.”

The newsman reveals he and Annette, a former model, haven’t had an easy marriage – but he would never cheat on his wife.

He adds, “The stories you’ve read over the years are not true… I don’t think we’re any different than any married couple that’s been together for 12 years. The accusations (of cheating) are ridiculous and I’m not going to (dignify) them with an answer. It’s not true.”

His wife has also spoken to the magazine, admitting the couple has had marital problems in the past, but, “We have worked through it.”

Russell Crowe stormed out of an interview with the BBC after he was accused of making Robin Hood sound Irish in his latest film.

Snapped the actor, who was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, “You’ve got dead ears, mate — seriously dead ears if you think there’s an Irish accent.”

When asked by art critic Mark Lawson if he meant to have a Northern Irish accent, the actor, 46, sniped, “No I was going for an Italian … missed it? F–k me.”

The last straw was when Lawson asked Crowe if he wanted to say his famous Gladiator line, “I’ll take my revenge in this life or the next” in Hood, which hits theaters Friday.

On his way out, Crowe muttered, “I don’t get the Irish thing by the way. I don’t get it at all.”

Crowe has said in prior interviews that he was trying to switch up the outlaw’s accent, making his character sound as if he was from the Yorkshire region of Britain, where scholars speculate he may have once lived, instead of Nottingham, where he was always based according to legend.

TMZ has learned that the Orange County District Attorney has rejected the case against Tito Ortiz, who was arrested last month for felony domestic violence.

The D.A. said there’s not enough proof to prove Tito attacked girlfriend Jenna Jameson.  Could it be because Jenna wasn’t telling the truth from the beginning? Sources say she changed her story many times over the course of the investigation.

Tito’s lawyer released the following statement: “We’re pleased the prosecutors recognized this as a misunderstanding.  Tito and Jenna are happily working on their relationship.”
