When it comes to debates at home with his wife Kyra Sedgwick and their teenage daughter Sosie, Kevin Bacon says he’s the underdog – but that doesn’t stop him from being strict in the areas he deems necessary.
“With my daughter I would say she usually wins [the debates], especially in the last few years,” Bacon, 51, told PEOPLE at Tuesday’s Lexus Darker Side of Green Climate Change debate in New York City. “When they are really little you can sort of play it off, but when they turn into teenagers you start to give them the heads up about their opinions and talk about things with them. But in the end she usually wins.”
Sosie, 18, may have found a soft spot in her dad, but the Taking Chance star said he’s still the disciplinarian at home. “I think I am more than mom,” said Bacon. “I am about certain things, like curfews.”
In terms of Sosie (the Bacons also have a son, Travis, 20), “We just spoke about curfews tonight, and she said to me, ‘Do I have a curfew?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I think you do!’ And she said, ‘I don’t think so. I haven’t had a curfew for years.’ So we had a debate about it, and I won.”
But what about debating with his wife of 21 years? “She usually wins,” he said with a big smile. “She’s a very good arguer. She always makes good solid points, and I just nod and agree.”
TMZ has learned Rachel Uchitel — the pilgrim of alleged mistresses — settled up with Tiger Woods for waaaaaaay more than you think … as in $10 MILLION!!
There were numerous reports Rachel settled on the brink of holding a Gloria Allred-style news conference for anywhere between $2 – 5 million.
But our sources — and they are good — tell TMZ Tiger was so concerned with the depth and detail of information from Alleged Mistress #1 that they folded like a cheap suit, and offered the huge $10 million sum in return for an ironclad confidentiality agreement.
TMZ has learned the actual settlement could fluctuate $1 million either way, depending on future circumstances. But the baseline is $10 mil.
Compare Rachel’s settlement with what other A.M’s received, if they got anything at all. We’re told several mistresses got several hundred thousand dollars, and others got nothing. That speaks volumes about how much Rachel knows.
Insiders are saying Rachel’s settlement could be a precursor to what Elin Nordegren could get if she pulls the plug on her marriage to Tiger. Reports that Elin could get $300 million under the prenup are absurd. It’s more likely the prenup is in the $5 – 10 million range, with provisions for support. But insiders tell us — with the backdrop of Rachel’s settlement — there’s no way Tiger would get off cheaper than $20 mil.
James Van Der Beek’s ex-wife will be getting a hefty monthly allowance, PEOPLE reports. The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star will be paying Heather Ann McComb $7,750 per month until December 2012, according to the divorce settlement filed Monday in Los Angeles.
This spousal support will supplement McComb’s monthly income, which is only $1,750 compared to Van Der Beek’s $35,000.
However, Van Der Beek’s North Hollywood home, bank accounts, residuals from his acting work and rights to the projects he has created are all his.
Life & Style has learned that Jesse James laid down major dough for the chance to get naughty with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. An insider at the Club Fantasy in San Diego tells Life & Style exclusively that Jesse visited the strip joint four times last summer, paying $400 an hour to take Bombshell into the dark VIP room alone. “[The club] comped him admission,” the insider tells Life & Style. “But he always paid to be with her. One time, she was on her knees giving him [oral sex]. It’s not something the club allows, but he is who he is. She bragged about doing it to him.”
His appetite was insatiable. Jesse spent additional money for another Club Fantasy stripper during that visit. “As soon as Michelle was done giving him [oral sex], he grabbed another one of the girls,” continues the insider. “He was pretty aggressive with her. He was pulling her bathing suit aside. He wanted her to do what Bombshell did, but she wouldn’t do it. It looked like she used her hand instead.” A representative for Club Fantasy tells Life & Style: “Jesse James was at the club. But we do not condone that sort of behavior.”
