A lawyer for Nicollette Sheridan is speaking about her $20 million suit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, whom she claims hit her in the face on the set and then fired in retaliation for complaining about him. (Cherry has yet to comment; ABC Studios says Sheridan’s claims are “without merit.”)

In a statement, Sheridan’s attorney Mark Baute tells UsMagazine.com: “Nicollette worked very hard on the show and was a model employee. Mr. Cherry’s behavior towards Nicollette was and is nothing short of abusive and appalling.

“The lawsuit is not something Nicollette wanted to do, it’s something she felt compelled to do. “Nicollette asked ABC for help and protection from Mr. Cherry’s abusive behavior, and ultimately, ABC was not willing or able to provide that protection.

“Sometimes the only way that a safe and normal work environment can be created is when a hard-working person like Nicollette stands up for herself and her rights, and in doing so help protect others who have had to work in a hostile environment.

“We expect the case to be hard fought, and it will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional.

“She put her heart and soul into the role of the Edie character, a character that she truly enjoyed playing.”

Ex-spouses Jon and Kate Gosselin may be headed back to court.

An attorney for Jon, 33, plans to file an emergency petition this week in Berks County, Penn., for primary physical custody of his eight children with ex-wife Kate, TMZ reports.

The reality dad’s new lawyer Anthony F. List tells TMZ that Kate, 35, is “an absentee mom.” List says her current stint on Dancing with the Stars prohibits her from spending “quality time” with twins Cara and Mady, 9, and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah, 5. (Kate and DWTS partner Tony Dovolani have been rehearsing in the basement of the $1.1 million Wernersville, Penn. home she shares with her kids.)

Also on the docket: the child support situation. Currently, Jon pays Kate $22,000 a month in child support. The attorney charges that the fee is “ridiculous,” and he may ask a judge to reverse the arrangement and demand that Kate pay Jon, though he declined to specify how much.

A source close to Jon tells UsMagazine.com that he “seems genuinely upset that the kids are growing up with strangers most of the time. Even when Kate’s at the house, she has a nanny there to do all the work.”

The source also adds that “Jon is anxious to find a place of his own close to the kids so he can have a little more stability for them,” and has been house-hunting near the Wernersville house. He presently lives in a two-bedroom apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side that rents for $5000 a month.

Originally titled Pretend Wife, Just Go for It follows a plastic surgeon (Sandler) who convinces a single mother (Aniston) to pretend to be his soon-to-be-divorced wife so that he doesn’t lose the woman he loves.

Brooklyn Decker, 22, who is married to tennis star Andy Roddick, will star as Sandler’s love interest.

Nicole Kidman has also signed on for the film, although her exact role is being kept under wraps.

Pneumatic reality star Heidi Montag has also been given a cameo part, which came as something of a surprise to Aniston. (Here are pictures of her filming scenes for the movie!)

When asked about the addition of Montag by Access Hollywood, Aniston replied diplomatically: ‘I just heard that…. that’s interesting and fun.’

She added that Montag is ‘perfect’ for the role, but declined to give any details about what she will be doing.
It is rumoured that Montag, who recently underwent 10 cosmetic surgery procedures, will play one of Sandler’s patients.

Just Go With It is expected to be released in February 2011.

Nicest thing I can say about the A-Team trailer is at least they found an excuse to put Bradley Cooper and Patrick Wilson in the same movie. Other than that? I think it looks as good as G.I. Joe was!

California attorney general claims Corey Haim obtained more than 550 prescription pills illegally in the months leading up to his death.

Jerry Brown says Haim obtained the meds, which included Valium and Soma, through seven different doctors. Brown says investigators have talked to the doctors and they appear to have been duped.

Haim died March 10 after collapsing in his mother’s apartment. The star of 1980s films such as “The Lost Boys” and “License to Drive,” Haim struggled with drugs throughout his life. Haim was also suffering from flulike symptoms before his death.
