Amy Winehouse’s Breast Implants Land Her in Hospital

Amy Winehouse may be getting her life back together – but one of her newest enhancements landed her in the hospital briefly Saturday.

The 26-year-old singer was experiencing chest pain and discomfort in the breast implants which she had fitted last fall. “She had them checked out and all was OK, so she didn’t have to stay in,” a friend tells People.

Winehouse was last hospitalized in November following a reaction involving over-the-counter medication that mixed with other medication in her system.

Saturday’s hospital visit comes as Winehouse settles back into life in Camden, London, following her relatively brief time living in the northern suburbs of Barnet. She has been working on and off on her third album and helping with the career of her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, with whom she was out last week.

Annie Potts: ‘Dixie Carter was a Goddess’

Annie Potts remembers her Designing Women costar Dixie Carter, who died Saturday morning at age 70, the same way that fans do, as “beautiful and brainy, smart and funny, prim and sexy, wickedly talented and divinely sweet.”

“Dixie Carter was a Goddess,” Potts said Monday in a statement to People about her friend, who battled endometrial cancer. “The kind of wife and mother that every mother hopes their daughter will become and the kind of friend that is absolutely irreplaceable. She loved fiercely and was adored in return.”

The two women played on the ’80s sitcom together for nearly seven years. “To have known her a little was a delight to all. To have known her well, a treasure beyond reckoning. And now, a loss beyond measure,” says Potts.

RIP Dixie. So sad.

Maksim: Kate Gosselin Doesn’t “Get the Point” of DWTS

In the new issue of Us Weekly, a Dancing with the Stars insider reveals Kate Gosselin’s first choice for pro partner: Maksim Chmerkovskiy. “She wishes she had been partnered with Maks because he’s a stronger personality [than Tony Dovolani], and Kate likes a man who takes charge.”

A crew source counters: “Kate would have lasted about five minutes with Maks.”

Well, Dovolani has Chmerkovskiy’s admiration — and sympathy? — for taking on the 35-year-old reality mom. “I admire Tony,” Maks wrote Friday on his TV Guide blog. “Not just because he’s my friend.”

The dancer explains: “I’ve spoken to Kate, and I don’t think she gets the point of this thing yet. The pain on her face says it all, which is unfortunate.”

Gosselin scored a low score of 15 points — and lots of jeers from the judges — last week for her paso doble routine set to Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.”

“The show is about finding a way to come out, enjoy yourself and have fun,” Maksim writes. Of Gosselin and Dovolani’s fiery relationship, he writes, “We were taught to respect our teachers, so as teachers, we expect to be respected by our students. Kate needs to trust him. However lifeless that paso was, he had her ready with the routine.”

Last week, Gosselin complained to E! News that it has been”very difficult” to focus, especially with a new custody lawsuit filed by her ex Jon Gosselin. “I can’t put my life aside and dance for six hours a day.”

But Chmerkovskiy implores her to try and do just that. “It’s a chance for her to focus on something other than personal drama. How many women with multiple kids sit back and reminisce about the days they could go and dance when they watch our show? How many people vicariously live through us? You need to enjoy it.”

How Demi Moore beats being 47

Demi Moore might be 47, but she really doesn’t feel a day older than … well, 5.

“I pretty much think of myself as like still being about 5. Maybe that’s why my Twitter picture is of me at 5,” the actress said Friday at a press conference for her new movie, The Joneses.

That childlike enthusiasm, not any particular beauty products or workout routines, is what she says makes her seem so young. “I don’t know if there is any particular secret [to staying youthful],” she says. “I think that laughter and smiling are one of the best antidotes to aging that you could possibly have.”

Moore’s affinity for the younger generation will come in handy this summer when she shoots her next film, LOL, in which she plays Miley Cyrus’ mom. Moore just met the 17-year-old pop star last week, and was impressed.

“I think she’s extremely talented,” she says. “This role is going to be really good for her. I think she’ll do an amazing job. She clearly comes from a really solid family, which I think really shows.”

For now, Moore – who’s been mulling the idea of becoming a mother again with Ashton Kutcher – is promoting The Joneses with costar David Duchovny.

It’s a film about today’s rampant consumerism as seen through a family that has everything (including more than a few secrets). And for Moore, it was a chance to re-examine her own values when it comes to material things – and the lessons she tried to impart to daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.

“I feel like I have the fortune of privilege, particularly as it relates, say, to my children,” she says. “I’ve always really tried to keep a positive perspective of what’s valuable … that who you are isn’t the stuff you have.”

Josie Duggar Back in Hospital

After celebrating the release of their 19th child from the hospital last week, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar had to take her back to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock on Thursday at 3 a.m., when her vital signs began to drop unexpectedly.

“Dr. Arrington told us to never trust a preemie,” says Jim Bob, quoting Josie’s attending physician, Dr. Robert Arrington, co-director of the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. “That is really true.”

Fortifiers added to breast milk to increase her calorie intake and spur her growth are the culprit in causing the littlest Duggar constipation after being at the family’s temporary home in Little Rock for just a few days, according to Jim Bob. The constipation led to her vital signs fluctuating.

After Jim Bob and Michelle rushed her back to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, “She’s doing fine now,” says Jim Bob. “They will watch her for a few days to make sure she’s safe.”

The Duggars brought little Josie home to the family’s temporary rental in Little Rock on Tuesday, April 6, so they could be as close to the hospital as possible while they ensured she was doing well. Today Josie weighs in at 4 lbs., 12½ oz., says Jim Bob.

Caring for a Preemie
Josie was born Dec. 25 at 25 weeks, after Michelle’s preeclampsia diagnosis caused an emergency C-section. Her birth, fight for life and growth are part of the hit TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m.

Now, the doctors are trying different combinations of fortifiers to find the exact combination that’s best for Josie, says Jim Bob – who, with Michelle, is continuing to learn about the ups and downs of caring for a preemie, he says.

“It seems like she will do great for a few days and then have challenges,” says Jim Bob. “We are so encouraged about how she’s doing, and it is amazing how she’s filling out. But, even though she is beyond her due date and over the four-month mark, she is still not at the weight of a full-term baby.”

Kids Understand
While the other 17 children living at their temporary home in Little Rock were happy to have their youngest sister around for a few days, they understand that her hospitalization puts her in the safest place possible, says Jim Bob.

“This is the very reason we stayed close to the hospital initially because they are experts at her care,” says Jim Bob. “They are used to dealing with these preemies, and this is the best place in the world to have her.”

While Jim Bob says they don’t know yet how long Josie will remain at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, “We really appreciate everyone’s continued prayers for Josie.”
