Lady Gaga has made an art form of skimpy outfits, but at the moment it’s all for show. The pop star says she is currently single and celibate.

“I haven’t got time to spend on the road to get to know anyone,” she told reporters Monday at MAC cosmetics’ Viva Glam event in London, reports the U.K.’s Mirror. “Even Lady Gaga can be celibate. You don’t have to have sex to be loved.”

The “Poker Face” singer, 23, who arrived at the event in a sexy see-through black lace dress, may be abstaining – but that doesn’t preclude her from offering opinions about what goes on in the bedroom.

“Sex should be fun, beautiful and colorful, but women get the short end of the stick,” she says. “We’re just receivers. We can’t talk about sex, we can’t sing about sex.”

To keep the loneliness at bay while on tour, she takes strength from her fans, whom she calls her “roommates.”

“When I see my beautiful fans I feel how much they protect and mean to me,” she says. “It would be irresponsible if I didn’t protect them and teach young people to be self-expressive, to love yourself.”

“American Idol” alumna-turned-actress Katharine McPhee was spotted out shopping with a darker do yesterday. It was also reported that McPhee is making her TV pilot debut with a lead role in NBC’s comedy “The Pink House.”

The project centers on Midwesterners John “Fitz” Fitzgerald and Rob “Bernie” Burnett who move to L.A. and rent a house right on the beach, determined to find jobs they actually love and make the most of their twenties.

McPhee will play Emily, a down-to-earth Midwest girl new to Manhattan Beach who lives in an apartment behind the guy’s house and works as a pharmaceutical rep. Her shape is perfectly normal and healthy but puts Emily in a line-up of way-too-thin cliche California beach bunnies,

McPhee, who was the runner-up on the fifth season of “Idol,” co-starred in the comedy feature “The House Bunny” and made her TV acting debut in an episode of “CSI: NY.”

She will next be seen in the romantic comedy “You May Not Kiss the Bride.”

Ali Fedotowsky has been named the star of the new season of The Bachelorette.

The announcement was made during Monday night’s Bachelor finale.

“I’m so excited!” she told host Chris Harrison. “I am so thrilled and honored and grateful. I just can’t believe it.”

Told that America has fallen for her, she replied, “I feel so blessed.”

When she was first approached to do the show, she said she felt “scared. I realize I am not going to let my fear dictate my life anymore. I want to fall in love, have kids, all of that. I am not going to make the same mistake I made before.”

The 25-year-old Fedotowsky — a San Francisco-based advertising accounts manager for Facebook — was one of Bachelor Jake Pavelka’s frontrunners until she abruptly left the show to save her job.

On the recent Women Tell All special, she expressed regret for her decision.

“If I could go back and do it differently, I would,” she said, adding: “On my death bed, I don’t want to look back and say I didn’t love enough … If I knew what I know now, would I chose love over work? Yes.”

She previously told E! being the star of The Bachelorette would be “so exciting and wonderful.”

The only downfall?

“I’d have a really difficult time and I’d have to have some really deep conversations to go for anyone,” she said. “I don’t know how good I would be because I might just be drilling everyone.”

Ali’s journey begins May 24.
