James Cameron claims he wouldn’t have been offended if Sacha Baron Cohen had poked fun at Avatar at the Oscars.
The controversial Bruno star, 38, was slated to be a presenter on the show, but was dropped because he planned to appear onstage in a blue bodysuit impersonating a female Na’vi character from Cameron’s blockbuster film.
According to reports, Cohen was going to say he was pregnant with the Best Director nominee’s love child. But producers worried the skit would upset Cameron, so a solo Ben Stiller ended up appearing on stage instead.
Asked about Cohen’s skit, Cameron, 55, told UsMagzine.com on the red carpet: “Well I heard about that. But, you know, it’s all part of the fun, isn’t it?”
Even though he lost out to his ex, Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow, in the Best Director and Best Picture categories, Cameron told Us it felt “amazing” to be at the show.
“It’s just such a great celebration of movies in general and I feel like there’s a real celebration here,” he told Us. “We’re just here to have fun.”

Family and friends of Andrew Koenig attended a private memorial service on Saturday at the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon, Calif. The former Growing Pains star can now rest in peace.
The 41-year-old actor, son of Star Trek’s Walter Koenig, had been missing for a week before his body was found in a wooded area of a Vancouver park after he apparently committed suicide by hanging.
“It was a celebration of life,” David Moss, a rep for Walter, told E! News. “All of the family was there and a lot of his actor friends and filmmakers flew down and joined in. It was not all happiness, I must say. There was a lot of sadness, but there were some very nice high points.”
A 10-minute movie was shown that celebrated Andrew’s life and Andrew’s sister and her husband gave a eulogy.
“They were kind of the highlights of the afternoon to bring some humor and warmth,” Moss explained of the speeches. “A movie was also made and put together of Andrew as a young child all the way up to current time.”
The actor’s parents chose not to speak and Moss explained, “It was tough for them. But there was some closure, and I think that was important.”
Some members of the Growing Pains and Star Trek casts were part of the approximate 100 people who attended the tribute.
“It was peaceful and it was warm,” Moss said. “The weather was reasonably nice, and it’s a lovely spot in the mountains, a nice restaurant. For lack of a better word, a good time was had by all.”
Where or when Andrew’s remains will be interred is still unknown.
“I have no information. I don’t know whether there was or is a cremation,” Moss explained. “If there’s a cremation, I don’t know how that’s going to be handled. If there was a burial, I wasn’t informed.”

John Travolta put on a brave face when he appeared at the Academy Awards on Sunday – but the star says he’s still in mourning over the death of his son Jett last year.
“We are working hard on healing, still,” Travolta, 56, told People at the Governor’s Ball after the Oscars Sunday night. “It’s going to be a lifelong project. Everybody has been so enormously supportive and I really appreciate it.”
Jett was 16 when he died of a seizure at the family’s home in the Bahamas in January of 2009.
Travolta’s Wild Hogs costar Tim Allen says his pal is coping well. “He is doing really well, I mean, healing as best he can,” Allen told People at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Award Viewing Party. “He is pushing through a very tough situation.”
On a lighter note, Travolta said his wife Kelly Preston, who stayed home and watched the show, was the one who suggested he dress in denim for the Academy Awards.
“I didn’t like how my tux pants were fitting, and my wife said to me, ‘Why don’t you wear jeans?’ ” he told People. “She said, ‘You’ll be comfortable, they look good on you.’ ”

The private funeral service for Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son was held today in Provo, Utah — about 35 miles south of Salt Lake City. Michael Bryan was remembered by his family and close friends as funny person who taught those around him about the importance of giving back, the Associated Press reports.
Approximately 450 people attended Michael’s services. Marie, brother Donny Osmond and five of their siblings sang a hymn as part of the funeral ceremony.
Michael, the fourth of Marie’s eight children, died Feb. 26 after jumping from the eighth floor of his L.A. apartment building.
Michael was one of five children adopted by Marie. He previously went by his adoptive father’s last name, Blosil.
Days before his death, Michael legally changed his last name to Bryan.
The reason for the name change remains unknown, and there are still many unanswered questions. Autopsy results remain inconclusive as well.
Michael left a suicide note for a female friend who lived in his apartment building, shortly before he jumped to his death.
In the note, he admitted that the woman was his only good friend in L.A. and he was very unhappy.

There is a new bromance a-brewin’ between two of young Hollywood’s hunkiest actors — Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson. Reports have been buzzing for a while that R-Pattz has a man-crush on Zac, and now the High School Musical phenom admits to admiring the brooding, beloved actor! “He’s absolutely amazing,” Zac told Access Hollywood on the Oscars red carpet last night.
“I think he’s making great choices. I think he’s handling it all really well, but you know, he’s a superstar. He really deserves all this,” Zac continued to Access.
Both actors have received good/bad press for their full head of shaggy hair! Last night, Zac looked like he had a little bit to much product in his ‘do; however, he admitted he spent little time sculpting his spiky mop.
“I woke up with it this way,” he said. “Kinda just ran with it.”
Zac is looking forward to spending a little down time with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens in Sin City.
Vanessa is headed to Las Vegas to accept the ShoWest Star of Tomorrow Award, and Zac will be by her side for support!
“She’s trying to get me to go to Vegas,” Zac said. “I’ve not been to Vegas legal yet, as a 21-year-old. I feel like I might get into trouble.”
Too bad R-Pattz was busy filming Bel Ami in Europe. He would have made great arm candy for Kristen Stewart, who rocked the red carpet with co-star Taylor Lautner at last night’s Academy Awards.

Farrah Fawcett’s longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal, has joined other Hollywood figures including Jane Fonda and Roger Ebert in expressing dismay that Fawcett was left out of the “In Memoriam” segment of Sunday’s Academy Awards.
“There is no comment other than we were disappointed that she was not included,” a rep for O’Neal tells People.
Fonda and Ebert both Tweeted about the snub during the broadcast. “No Farrah Fawcett in the memorial tribute? Major fail,” Ebert wrote. “And where was Farrah Fawcett? She should have been included #oscars #FAIL,” wrote Fonda.
The “In Memoriam” portion of the broadcast features a montage of film-industry figures who have passed away in the previous year. Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences spokeswoman Leslie Unger says the segment can only honor so many people.
“Every year it’s an unfortunate reality that we can’t include everybody,” she tells the Associated Press.
Even before the show, Academy executive director Bruce Davis spoke about the difficult process of creating the segment. “It is the single most troubling element of the Oscar show every year,” he told AP last week. “Because more people die each year than can possibly be included in that segment.”
Davis explained that he and a small committee narrow an initial list of more than 100 people down to about 30. “It gets close to agonizing by the end,” he said. “You are dropping people who the public knows. It’s just not comfortable.”
Fawcett, who died last June at age 62, was primarily a TV actress, though she did appear in a number of feature films.
