Bret Michaels Talks ‘Apprentice,’ Miley Cyrus

When Bret Michaels celebrates his 47th birthday today with a concert in Dubuque, Iowa, the single father of two can whoop it up knowing he made it through round one on Celebrity Apprentice (which debuted Sunday). But all the drama isn’t behind him: His controversial collaboration with Miley Cyrus, Nothing To Lose, hits the airwaves today — and he has another project in the works with the Cyrus family.

For Bret, appearing on Celebrity Apprentice marks his fourth season in a reality TV career that includes three renditions of Rock of Love.

What can we expect from Celebrity Apprentice this time around?

“This year the show captures that gamut of emotions including humor. I think the world and the state we’re in could use a little uptick as well. Not everything has to be fighting and depression. I think the world could use a few laughs as well. When you watch me work, you’ll get a good laugh.”

While the Poison singer couldn’t get enough of the yuks he shared with “fierce” Sharon Osbourne, he butted heads with Michael Johnson, Sinbad and Bill Goldberg.

“We didn’t really know how to take each other,” he admits.

Although he calls his greatest asset his “creativity and drive,” he confesses his biggest problem is “living on rocker time, which isn’t about being up early-early in the morning. I’m not sure that set well with Mr. Trump.”

What was Donald Trump really like? (more…)

Joey Fatone Confused By Daughter Kloey’s Cries

As a former member of ‘NSYNC, girls crying in his presence is old hat to Joey Fatone. The wails he’s still trying to interpret? Those of his 9-week-old daughter, Kloey Alexandra.

“When she cries, [I’ve] already fed her, [I’ve] already changed her — I’m like, ‘What is wrong?!’ Fatone, 33, told reporters at the N.Y.C. opening of Brother Jimmy’s BBQ in Union Square on Wednesday.

“I turn you this way, I turn you that way, do I have to hold you, do I have to rock you? What’s the deal?’”

The Dancing With the Stars alum and his wife, Kelly Baldwin Fatone, welcomed the latest addition to their brood — which also includes elder daughter Briahna — in January.

And it seems like Briahna, who turns 9 next week, is stepping up and accepting her big sister duties — except for one, that is.

“She won’t change the diapers yet,” notes Fatone. “But she will feed the baby, she’ll burp her, she’ll hold her, she’ll make sure she doesn’t cry. She’s loving it, she’s awesome.”

As for his status as the lone man in a family of females, Fatone jokes, “It’s my karma for being in a boy band surrounded by screaming girls.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt Nervous About Being Single Again

Single ladies, take heart: Even Jennifer Love Hewitt is daunted by the idea of diving back into the dating pool after a breakup.

“I don’t like to go out to clubs and party. I’m not into ‘Let’s go out with one guy on a Monday and another guy on a Wednesday’ – that’s just not me,” Hewitt, 31, tells People. “I’m a relationship kind of girl. I like a twosome. Some people get excited about being single. I don’t.”

Hewitt and her Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy, 39, quietly split recently after a year together.

It was “a mutual decision, and we’ve parted as friends,” says Hewitt. “There’s no anger, there’s no upset, there’s no enemies.” Hewitt adds that the pair’s pre-existing friendship has made it easy to transition to working together as exes: “It’s been totally fine. It’s really a testament to who he is and to who I am. We’re both grown-ups.”

New Book
Ironically, the split comes just as The Day I Shot Cupid, Hewitt’s new book offering advice and wisdom on dating and relationship hits bookstores. Subtitled Hello, My Name is Jennifer Love Hewitt and I’m a Love-aholic, the book, out March 23, includes Hewitt’s own dating horror stories, admissions about her fantasy engagement rings (she’s been visiting the same store since age 12 to try them on) and advice on everything from getting over breakups to dieting and cellulite.

It also includes a chapter written by her then-boyfriend Kennedy in which he rhapsodizes about women’s curves – derrieres in particular, saying he prefers “junko in the trunko” and calling big butts “sexy, strong and yummy.”

Hewitt says she has “no idea” when she’ll be ready to date again, though she plans to re-read her own book for advice (and is already at work penning a follow-up).

Independent Working Woman
“Back in the shark tank!” she jokes. “I never said in the book that I knew how to be in the perfect relationship. I say in my book I want to be the readers’ kind spirit out in the dating world. And now, more than ever, I am.”

So for now is Hewitt content to be an independent working woman, or does the self-described “hopeless romantic” still yearn to find true love?

“Both,” she says. “I want to be an independent woman who falls in love, finds a great partner for her lifetime, has kids and kind of does it all. I’d like to have it all.”

Is Edward Norton the Love doctor?

Now that Courtney Love’s career is hot again, she says she’s been turning to an old boyfriend to help her with her daughter. Courtney, whose new single “Skinny Little Bitch” is already a smash, isn’t allowed contact with her 17-year-old daughter, Frances Bean, after the two had an altercation at their New York apartment in October.

A judge took Frances away from Courtney in December to live with of the mother and sister of Frances’ father, rocker Kurt Cobain, who took his own life in 1994. But Courtney says the two have been communicating through her ex, Edward Norton, whom Courtney calls a “force of good” in the mother-daughter relationship.

In other Love news, Courtney has been seen on the arm of hotelier Andre Balazs, ex-husband of modeling mogul Katie Ford and ex-boyfriend of Uma Thurman.

A serious case of cuteness hit West Hollywood, CA on March 16, 2010 as Nicole Richie departed from Kid Fit with her daughter Harlow Madden and another mom and daughter pair. The two little ones held hand, certainly looking like best friends, while the moms shared a laugh and looked very chummy.

Don’t Let Simon Cowell Fool You – He’s Just Shy, Says Friend

He may blush and seem “uncomfortable” as he sits beside and kisses his girlfriend on The Tonight Show, but Simon Cowell is really “giddy” with when it comes to rumored fiancée Mezghan Hussainy.

Cowell, 50, has been acting “teenagery and happy and light,” British actress Amanda Holden tells People. “They are like Tweedledee and Tweedledum. You can’t separate them really. ”

Holden, who is a Britain’s Got Talent judge and CBS Early Show special correspondent, might surprise many Cowell-watchers by saying that her friend is “shy” and not prone to outward displays of his private thoughts. This may explain why he and Afghanistan-born Hussainy, 36, have been so coy about their marriage plans.

“Apart from his mum [speaking about him], he’s never really let on much about his private life,” she says. “He has to maintain some kind of privacy in such a public arena. He wants to keep something back for himself. He’s an incredibly shy person.”

Holden can’t confirm that Cowell is engaged but what is clear is the ring that he has bought his love – a huge diamond sparkler that has been turning heads. “It’s the Rock of Gibraltar – it’s massive, it’s huge,” Holden laughs. “You could get a whole community living on there.”

Holden adds: “I don’t see the point of Simon’s success unless you have someone in your life.”

Why may Hussainy be the perfect someone for Simon? Besides being independent, gorgeous, sexy and funny, she says what she thinks and that works for Cowell. “People who he trusts the most are the people who talk to him properly,” Holden says. “He likes proper opinion and she’s very strong and definitely vocal and honest. Most people in his life are … He’s a straight talker on the telly and real life.”

“Simon’s fallen hook line and sinker,” Holden concludes.
