Guess those pictures of the Jolie-Pitts living it up in Italy — the boat rides, gelato, and on-set smooches — don’t lie.
In London for Monday’s red carpet premiere of the film Kick-Ass (he’s a producer) Brad Pitt told UsMagazine.com that life in Venice has been “lovely!”
Pitt braved London’s downpour with a hat and quipped, “the rain won’t put us off a premiere!” (Kick-Ass stars Nicolas Cage and is scheduled to hit theaters next month.)
The star, 46, went stag for this premiere: Angelina Jolie, 34, stayed behind in the ancient city of canals with their six kids; she’s been filming the The Tourist there with Johnny Depp.
With The Tourist filming primarily in Venice for about two more months, the famous family — Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 3, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 20 months –has rented out a lavish, canalside 15th century palazzo.

There’s going to be a “Party in the U.S.A.” — or at least in Hollywood — when Miley Cyrus lends her musical expertise to the remaining contestants on American Idol this week.
FOX confirms that the teen pop sensation will be the celebrity mentor during the Billboard No.1 hits-themed show on Tuesday (8 p.m. EST). Of the 11 contestants left, three are teens: Siobhan Magnus, 19, and Aaron Kelly, 16, and Katie Stevens, 17. Tim Urban is 20 years old.
But last week’s theme — contestants performed from The Rolling Stones‘ song book — proved age is nothing but a number as Magnus, Kelly and Stevens all pleased the judges with their take on classic songs by the legendary rock band.
On Wednesday’s results show (9 p.m. EST), Miley will be back to perform her hit song, “When I Look At You,” and new couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will sing their duet, “Make A Wave.”

Talk about cold comfort.
Star Jones is recovering from last week’s cardiac surgery with the help of her fans – and a simple frozen pleasure.
“Thank you for all the good wishes and prayers … I feel them all,” the former View co-host Tweets. By the way … who knew that ice chips could taste like steak!”
Jones, who turns 48 on Wednesday, had a heart procedure March 17 related to surgery she had 30 years ago to remove a thoracic tumor. Her rep told People over the weekend that the operation had been a success and Jones was recovering well.
By Monday she was feeling strong enough to talk politics.
“Can you imagine me trying to recover without health care?” Jones Tweeted. “Those who voted against it need to hang their heads in shame.”

Sandra Bullock won’t be attending premiere of her film The Blind Side in Germany and has backed out without giving an explanation, but it isn’t hard to guess why.
Sandra pulled out of the London premiere of The Blind Side last week after reports came out of her husband allegedly having an affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee and now she’s pulling out of Germany premiere, E! News reports.
This time she didn’t make a statement about her absence like she did for London citing “unforeseen personal reasons,” but by now she probably doesn’t need a reason — we don’t think Berlin could blame her for canceling!
“Without Sandy, it just didn’t make any sense to have a premiere,” a studio source told E!.
Sandra has not decided when to return out in the public eye, the source said.
Do you think she should stay in hiding or face the spotlight?
