After weeks of speculation, Katherine Heigl has finally confirmed she’s leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

“I’m done,” she tells the new issue of Entertainment Weekly (on stands Friday).

“We just finalized our agreement,” continues Heigl, 31, who played Dr. Izzie Stevens on the ABC medical drama for six seasons. “Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”

She says she wants more time to focus on her 16-month-old daughter Naleigh, whom she adopted from South Korea with husband Josh Kelley last September.

“I started a family and it changed everything for me,” says Heigl, who took a three-month leave after welcoming her baby girl. “It changed my desire to work full-time.”

A source told Us Weekly earlier this month that Heigl also wants to focus on her film career. Her newest romantic comedy, Killers, which costars Ashton Kutcher, hits theaters June 4.

“She loves movies,” the source said.

She also took a five-episode leave from Grey’s to film Life As We Know It last year.

Prospective Jennifer Love Hewitt suitors, take note: The recently single actress-turned-author thinks Staples is sexy.

“I love office supplies,” Hewitt told People at Tuesday’s grand opening of Esprit’s flagship store in New York. “I love being organized. It’s the folders and the tech … [Staples] is a place to take me if you want me to get hot and bothered.”

Not that Hewitt, who recently split with Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy, isn’t enjoying her current post-break-up life. “It’s really nice,” she said. “You definitely get more time with your girlfriends. You get more time to do things around your house. And just to relax and get your nails done and watch TV and have a good glass of wine. It’s great.”

But when romance does come back around, Hewitt, 31, has a formula for predicting whether it will last. “You can pretty much figure out on the first 10 dates who the guy is going to be seven months later,” she explained. “And we as girls tend to romanticize men right away, and say, ‘No, no, no, he didn’t mean that.’ Or, ‘That thing that he did, it kind of bothered me, but it will change.’ ”

[But] it doesn’t change,” Hewitt continued, laughing. “You have to find somebody just who works and gels with you and that’s all you can do.”

Hewitt has plenty of other dating advice, which serves up in her new book, The Day I Shot Cupid, out this week. Ex-boyfriend Kennedy also wrote a chapter – which Hewitt said she “loved,” despite the fact that they’re no longer an item.

“I thought it was great,” she said. “And I’m really appreciative that he was a part of the book.”

That much-discussed beard on Brad Pitt’s superstar chin has now surpassed the excuse of novelty. And it’s not even there for a role.

Now the actor has given his reason for the straggly facial fluff: He can’t be bothered to change it. “It’s boredom. No other reason than that,” he told Britain’s Sun while chatting in the London kitchen of supermodel Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn – the director and Pitt’s fellow producer on the upcoming movie Kick-Ass.

Sipping Guinness stout and smoking a cigarette, Pitt, 46, added that he has been getting into Brit rapper Dizzee Rascal, another guest at the Kick-Ass after-party. (The movie opens in the U.S. April 16.)

“That guy has got it,” he said of Dizzee Rascal. “The kids are really into his stuff. I have worked out to that song ‘Bonkers.’ ”

Pitt, who is a longtime collaborator with Vaughn (they worked together on the movie Snatch), also spoke about how he once nearly got into a scrape over a woman during a visit to Scotland.

“When I was in Glasgow I got involved with this girl. She happened to be the ex-girlfriend of a bit of a bad guy. I ended up having to get out of town because I was getting ‘that’ look from a guy behind a bar,” said Pitt. “It was heavy.”

The leading man, currently staying in Venice while partner Angelina Jolie is shooting her new movie The Tourist, has since been up to Scotland again, this time with more peaceful results – to scout movie locations with his friend Vaughn.

Safe to say Brad Paisley won’t be ditching his country career for politics anytime soon.

“I’m uncomfortable campaigning,” the singer-songwriter – and nominee for the ACM’s Entertainer of the Year award – said in Franklin, Tenn., at a party this week in honor of his two No. 1 songs, “Welcome to the Future” and “American Saturday Night.”

“Honestly, I don’t like that part of it. I understand that people love to get involved and it’s cool that they can, but vote for who you want.”

Paisley, 37, is actually one of eight country artists in the running for the top honor at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, airing Sunday, April 18, on CBS at 8 p.m./7 p.m. Central, with Reba McIntire as host.

The award – the ACM’s top honor – is selected by fans via an online ballot, with voting to begin April 1.

Paisley’s competition includes last year’s winner Carrie Underwood, along with Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, George Strait, Zac Brown Band and four-time winner Kenny Chesney.

As Jesse James struggles to cope with a family crisis he admits to creating, his top priority, a friend tells People, is maintaining some normalcy in the lives of his three children.

He’s “spending every free moment with his children,” says his friend, “taking them to school and doing the things they love to do, so this doesn’t disrupt their lives too much.”

Their stepmom, Sandra Bullock, moved out of the family home on March 15 after allegations of infidelity were made against James.

“He would certainly love for this somehow to go away and that somehow things can be rectified and put back together,” the friend says. “The one thing that’s most important to him in the whole wide world is that his family comes back together. He will do whatever that takes.

James, 40, the West Coast Choppers motorcycle king, has daughters Chandler, 15, and Sunny, 6, and son Jesse Jr., 12, from two previous marriages. Bullock, 45, has long spoken of her deep love for his kids, whom she treats as her own.

The James friend says of the newly minted Oscar winner: “You’re talking about one of the most beautiful, talented women in the world, just an absolute wonderful human being, and there’s a great loss to him and his children.”
