Dr. Drew Pinksy’s Message to Sandra Bullock

Dr. Drew Pinsky has decided to offer his expertise on the current state of Jesse James and Sandra Bullock’s relationship. The board-certified addiction specialist and host of the hit VH1 show Celebrity Rehab has some sincere, and very straightforward, advice for the Oscar-winning actress.

“If I were treating Sandra, I would advise her to leave Jesse James,” Dr. Drew told Radar Online. “They don’t have a long life together, it’s been a relatively short-term relationship. There is no doubt to me that this relationship is over.”

Dr. Drew feels that after all of Jesse’s indiscretions, he cannot turn around and be the kind of husband Sandra needs.

“Jesse is a sex addict, and Sandra is a love addict,” Dr. Drew explained. “Sex addicts go for power and intensity, and that intensity is probably what attracted Sandra to Jesse. However, that intensity is not love, it’s addiction. Sandra probably didn’t give Jesse that level of intensity that he got with the mistresses.”

Dr. Drew said he predicts Jesse is not going to change his ways, and he poses a question to Sandra.

“Why were you attracted to Jesse?” he questions, not understanding the match between the West Coast Choppers founder and the award-winning A-list actress. “Jesse is probably a very nice guy, but it’s simply not a good combo for a sex addict and a love addict to be in a relationship.”

Even though Jesse is a sex addict, Dr. Drew feels his infidelity scandal should not be compared to Tiger Woods‘ indiscretions and infidelity against his wife Elin Nordegren.

“Tiger and Elin were very much in love at some point, and that was a very genuine love,” Dr. Drew explained. “They have two children together, a family, and many, many experiences together, and many reasons to try and make their marriage work.”

Dr. Drew predicts that Sandra will need “therapy to deal with what has happened.”

“I would guess she would need at least a couple of years,” he said, commenting that Sandra must be devastated. “She needs individual treatment. I would guess she could start to date in at least six months.”

‘American Idol’ David Cook Gives Back in Ethiopia

Former American Idol winner David Cook spoke to reporters from Ethiopia today in a press conference call to encourage people to donate to the upcoming Idol Gives Back special.

“I’ve been extremely moved by this trip,” David said. “It’s been a huge learning experience for me.”

The singer is visiting Ethiopia as part of a United Nations effort aimed at helping adolescent girls in the country. The story of David’s experience there will be shown on Idol Gives Back, which will air on FOX on April 21. The FOX show, as in the past, encourages viewers to call in donations to benefit relief efforts around the world.

The rocker, who won AI two years ago, revealed why he wanted to be a part of the special.

“I remember on my season when we did Idol Gives Back, we watched Annie Lennox’s performance and in the background they were showing images of the children,” David reminisced. “It tore me apart. My reality is not their reality. You want to help. This couldn’t have come at a better time.”

David went to Ethiopia to find out about the living conditions and how donations can help girls there. He met a seven-year-old girl at a school whose parents had passed away.

“She’s one of the most vibrant, joyous girls I’ve ever met,” David said. “The girls at the school want to learn, to have better education, to have that opportunity. That’s inspiring, to see a seven-year-old girl want to build a better future for herself.”

Elizabeth Gore of the United Nations Foundation, who participated in the press conference call with David, said the girls badly need school supplies to continue their education. Some of them have to go fetch water for six to 15 hours a day because they don’t have water holes nearby.

David visited a school and said, “There’s definitely a sense of hope. Donating just two dollars to these girls makes a world of difference. I feel kind of guilty [about] what the people have to deal with on a daily basis. It’s something that truly deserves our attention.”

He told reporters his Idol fame meant nothing to them: “Very few people here know who I am. We did get the chance to play some music for them.”

David isn’t sure if he will perform on Idol Gives Back, but he will be part of the special in some way to build awareness about the situation of Ethiopia’s young girls.

“People here need a helping hand and we’re in a great position to give that to them,” he said.

Shannen Doherty On DWTS Elimination: “It’s Fate”

9021-oh, no! Shannen Doherty was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday night. And making the ouster even worse was the fact that her partner, Mark Ballas, had a season-ending knee injury that would have meant he couldn’t have continued dancing with Shannen anyway.

Shannen wiped away tears after the show. But she put on a brave face for OK!, saying, “It’s fate. I’m feeling okay about it. I think the most upsetting part is not being able to spend the time with Mark. Now Mark’s injured and I get to play nursemaid, I guess.”

The former Beverly Hills 90210 star said, “I learned that I should stick with what I know. I was incredibly awkward, and I know that, but I’ve never claimed to be a dancer. I’m an actor. It’s what I love to do so I get to go back to doing what my heart says.”

The hit reality show’s first elimination of the season was dramatic, as Shannen and Pamela Anderson wound up the surprising bottom two. Both of the Hollywood bad girls had performed well on Monday night, with Pam channeling Marilyn Monroe for her foxtrot for a total of 43 with pro Damian Whitewood. And Shannen and Mark earned a score of 20 for their jive. Combined with last week’s 18, they got a cumulative score of 38 for the two weeks.

While others, including Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin, had scored lower than the TV actresses, voting means everything and Shannen and Pam faced the red elimination night lights on Tuesday.

After Shannen got the boot, Mark informed viewers that he had injured his knee in rehearsal and an MRI revealed he would have to be out for six weeks. Producers planned to replace Mark with his dancer dad Corky Ballas (well known for his DWTS season with Cloris Leachman) for Shannen’s duration on the show, but her vote off made that unnecessary.

“I’m emotional but it’s a little bit of relief — mixed with sadness to be leaving Mark,” Shannen said of her loyal partner.

Although many DWTS celebrities lose weight, in her month of rehearsing and doing the show, Shannen told OK! that wasn’t the case for her.

“I gained weight. Mark says it’s all muscle,” she said. “The truth is, if the dancing has changed my body, I should just go dance with Mark’s family.”

Longtime dance pro Mark explained to OK! his knee injury, which he suffered from during their Monday night dress rehearsal.

“I’m feeling all right. It’s just a little bit of muscle coming off the bone issue,” he said. “I’m just going to rest it. It’s going to be OK. This stuff happens.”

But Evan Lysacek’s dance partner, Anna Trebunskaya, revealed that “it had to hurt him today because he was on crutches.”

Meanwhile, Kate, whom many expected to leave because of her disastrous jive performance on Monday night with partner Toni Dovolani, seemed more relieved than anyone else backstage.

“It was sheer terror,” Kate confided to OK! about going through her first elimination show.

“It’s so nerve wracking. I was so convinced it was going to be us,” Toni confirmed. “She kept asking me, ‘Is it us? Is it us?’ I was like, ‘I don’t actually know!’ ”

Kate said, “I was walking around thinking all the other cast members were like, ‘Yep, I know it’s her.’ I didn’t want it to be me. It’s a mental game.”

Judge Len Goodman told the cast that next week, the performers have to tell a story through their dance. “The song that they gave us has a really cool meaning to Kate. [Expect] a lot of interesting drama,” Toni said.

Although the show televised their rehearsal tiff Monday night, Kate and Toni seemed to be getting along fine backstage on Tuesday.

“What CAN’T I improve on?,” Kate said backstage at the results show. “Every vote counts for us. How can I say this nicely — we really need them! Wink, wink!”

Toni laughed, “She said it all!”

The other dancers also looked forward to next week. Ice skater Evan said that they’ll perform the quickstep.

Show standout Nicole Scherzinger, partner Derek Hough by her side, said, “I think it’s going to be a fun challenge for us to tell a story through the dance.”

And Cheryl Burke’s partner, Chad Ochocinco told OK! “With football, there’s a little bit of cockiness and arrogance that comes. I’ve got to get it out here. I don’t know when that dance bug is going to click in.”

Next week, Chad will dance the Paso Doble, and he joked, “I might be nude, with one huge tassel, like Tarzan.”

How much skin will he show? Tune in to DWTS next week to find out!

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth’s first kiss was filmed

Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth’s first kiss wasn’t exactly the most private of moments.

Nope, it unfolded on camera – in front of an entire film crew – while shooting The Last Song.

“We turned up on set the very first day and originally it was just a scene where we were running through the water and splashing and having fun,” Hemsworth told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. “And halfway through the scene, the director, Julie Anne [Robinson], she yelled ‘Kiss!’ And we got thrown into a kiss on the boat.”

But the Australian actor wasn’t too disappointed about how it happened. “It was good, ’cause, you know, [you] get the first one out of the way, and it was fine,” Hemsworth, 20, said.

Plus, he said, it was “hard not to get close” to his costar while filming in Tybee Island, Ga. – a remote location, especially compared to Hollywood. “We were filming together every day, and hanging out every day,” he said. “We really didn’t have any other friends down there, so we just hung out with each other.”

It also helped that Cyrus’s mother, Tish, whom Hemsworth described as “the boss,” gave her stamp of approval on the budding relationship. “I got along well with her too, so I don’t think she minded,” Hemsworth said.

Getting Serious
Dad Billy Ray, meanwhile, had another pressing question for Hemsworth, which Seacrest relayed: “How serious is it gonna get?”

Hemsworth’s reply: “It’s pretty serious.”

Recently, the couple stepped out on the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of The Last Song, which arrives in theaters Wednesday. But Hemsworth said he’s still getting used to the media spotlight – not to mention the added attention that comes with his high-profile girlfriend.

“It’s all very new to me,” he said. “I’ve never experienced anything quite as big as this.”
