“30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin was rushed to a Manhattan hospital overnight after a caller believed to be his daughter dialed 911 to say she couldn’t rouse the actor.

When medics got to Baldwin’s Upper West Side apartment, he agreed to go to the hospital where he was treated and released after about an hour, sources told NBC New York.

Sources said it was Baldwin’s daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland, who made the call, telling an operator Baldwin was unresponsive. The 911 caller expressed concern that the actor was not responding and speculated about his possibly taking pills, according to sources familiar with the incident.

Baldwin, who is due to co-host the Academy Awards next month, was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. A spokesman for the actor says Baldwin is fine.

“This was a misunderstanding on one person’s part,” spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said on Baldwin’s behalf. “Alec was quickly released from the hospital, he’s completely fine and will be at work today.”

Baldwin’s daughter was at the center of a controversy during Baldwin’s nasty breakup with Basinger in 2007, when an angry voicemail he left regarding the girl was released. In it, Baldwin raged that Ireland was a “rude, thoughtless little pig.” Baldwin later apologized and even expressed interest in writing a parenting book.

Although Baldwin has said he may retire from acting, his career is in full swing. In 2009, he starred with Steve Martin and Meryl Streep in the romantic comedy “It’s Complicated.” He is critically acclaimed for his work in the NBC show “30 Rock” and on March 7, he and Martin are set to host the Oscars.

International fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home this morning, this according to a spokesperson for his company.

His death comes just days before the start of London fashion week and a month before he was to unveil his new collection at Paris fashion week.

There are reports claiming McQueen took his own life — but so far, an official cause of death has not been released.

The UK media organization, Sky News, is reporting that McQueen was found hanged in his apartment. Sky News also reports that local police have said the death would not be “treated as suspicious.”

The 40-year-old designer often designed outfits for Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Prince Charles.

A rep from McQueen’s office just released a statement saying, “At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with [McQueen's] family.”

Yesterday on GMA, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper discussed their work with M·A·C’s VIVA GLAM campaign against HIV/AIDS. Then, Lady Gaga uttered words no producer wants to hear: “I don’t know if this is too much for morning TV, but…”

Gaga said she and Lauper want their friendship to set an example for young women because:

Everyone has that… phone call of, “Oh my gosh, you won’t believe what I did last night. I was so stupid I didn’t use a condom,” and there’s all this laughter on the phone… I’ve gotten those phone calls, and it’s our job as friends to one another to say, “I don’t know why you’re laughing because it’s very serious. I really don’t feel there’s enough women who are educated about AIDS, how quickly it’s spreading, how dangerous it really is, how many people really have it, and we want to do good jobs as women who represent a sexual community and a strong independent group.

Lauper added that she hopes people will buy the new lipstick shades named for her and Gaga and, “Give this to your kid sister, tell her about AIDS, tell her you can die from it… You put the lipstick on, let it remind you ‘be prepared.’”
