Matthew Broderick getting his own NBC show!

Matthew Broderick is ditching Broadway for the Hamptons.
Broderick will star in the pilot for “Beach Lane,” a new sitcom set in the upscale stretch of sand ‘n’ sea communities on Long Island’s East End, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The veteran stage and film star, 47, will play a celebrity author who is hired by a millionaire to run his struggling Hamptons newspaper.
The NBC pilot is being co-produced by Lorne Michaels of “Saturday Night Live” fame, who reportedly approached Broderick to star in “Beach Lane” months ago.
Broderick, best known for such Broadway musicals as “The Producers” and the teen comedy “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” rarely does television despite having been courted by TV shows for years, The Hollywood Reporter writes. His most recent appearance was on “30 Rock,” which is executive produced by Michaels.
