That possum cost $7,000!? Someone got ripped off!

Ted Gibson, the stylist who persuaded Kate Gosselin to change her distinctive hair ‘do, reveals the true cost of her cut — nearly $7,000.

“My haircuts are $950,” Ted told Radar Online. “The color would have been about $500, and the extensions, which were great length extensions, would probably cost about $5000.”

Ted says that Kate was terrified about changing her trademark sidesweep. “We were together for about 20 hours and I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate trying to convince her to cut her bangs,” he says. “I felt like she was hiding behind that front piece.”

However, he says the mom of eight was “really open to the entire process.”

Meanwhile, he has a nickname for the crop at the back of her head. “The little short bits in the back, we called them her ‘attitude’ and getting rid of those took a long time!”

Despite spending so much time together, Kate stayed quiet on one subject: her ex-husband Jon Gosselin. “I was surprised,” Ted says, “but Kate did not talk about Jon at all. It’s Kate the Clean Slate and I was really proud of her, she said she was moving on.”

Here’s a not-so-sunny forecast in the OC: Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney has been served divorce papers by husband Simon Barney. In papers posted at RadarOnline, Simon contends that his wife “has been verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity.”

The couple have been married for 11 years and have three children, ages four, nine and ten; Tamra, 42, has an older son, Ryan, 23, from a previous marriage. Tamra’s marriage troubles have been documented on the current season of Bravo’s hit reality series. The strong-willed pair have butted heads in recent episodes over financial troubles, Tamra’s desire to re-enter the workforce, her troubled son Ryan, and her friendship with fellow housewife Vicki Gunvalson.

RadarOnline reports that Tamra had moved out of their shared home earlier this week into an apartment — but had been unaware that Simon was filing divorce papers.

In a BravoTV.com blog post Dec. 11, Simon defended his bad rep as a “controlling evil husband,” as he puts it.

“I have been presented over and over as being controlling. Yes, it’s true! I admit it again. I am controlling! Controlling the damage and protecting my family. If you have seen my wife in the last few seasons, you know that if I was controlling I must suck at it.”

He added: “Being on a reality show is not my priority in life. My wife and children’s happiness and well being is.”

NBC – you SUCK. This is just a crappy move, if you ask me. NBC is giving Jay Leno his 11:30 time slot back, since he failed so miserably in the 10:00 slot. They’ve told Conan “take it or leave it” basically. See below, from TMZ:

NBC has given Conan O’Brien the option to either do his show from midnight to 1 or leave the network, sources tell TMZ.

As TMZ first reported, after the Olympics, Jay Leno will get his 11:30 PM time period back. We’re told network execs have told Conan they will let him decide if he wants the midnight to 1:00 AM time slot. If he does, Leno’s show will only be a half hour. If Conan walks, Leno will get a full hour, informed sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Conan has not decided what he wants. We do know he’s pissed, because he was given no advanced warning this was coming. Conan’s people told NBC they are considering the offer. Translation: Mr. O’Brien — I have Rupert Murdoch on line one, Stephen McPherson on line two, John Landgraf on line three, Jeff Wachtel on line four …

We’re told if Conan gets another offer, even though NBC could block the move, they will let him go and give Leno the full hour.
