When Mackenzie Phillips decided to tell the world about her 10-yearlong incestuous relationship with her father, she knew that her life would change forever. But she had no idea that sharing such a painful secret would cost her some of the people she believed cared about her most.
“Maybe I am naïve,” Mackenzie, 50, tells In Touch. “I thought people would think I was weird for writing this book, but I never thought they would say it was a lie. I never thought my family would abandon me.”
Yet four months after the former One Day at a Time star related sexual encounters with her rocker father, John Phillips, in her best-selling autobiography, High on Arrival, that seems to be exactly what has happened.
Several of Mackenzie’s closest family members — including her stepmother, Michelle Phillips, and her half sister Bijou — have cut off all ties with her. Michelle has even accused Mackenzie of having a history of mental illness, a claim which both Mackenzie and Michelle’s daughter (and Mackenzie’s half sister) Chynna have denied. “This is what happens when incest survivors speak the truth,” Mackenzie shares. “The victim is punished.”

Michael C. Hall of “Dexter” fame has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but is on the road to recovery. In a statement yesterday, Hall said he was fortunate to be diagnosed with a “treatable and curable condition,” and thanked his doctors and nurses for their expertise. The actor’s spokesguy, Craig Bankey, said the cancer is in remission and Hall’s treatment will continue as planned. Hall, 38, is expected to attend Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards with his wife and “Dexter” co-star, Jennifer Carpenter. Bankey said Hall will return to filming the fifth season of the creepy Showtime drama later this year.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s foundation is contributing $1 million to the emergency medical operation responding to the devastating 7.0-magnitude quake in Haiti.
“It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” says Jolie.
Adds Pitt: “We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care.”
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the funds to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres, whose three hospitals in Port-au-Prince were severely damaged, forcing the staff to work out of open-air hospitals.

It looks like Bob Guiney is a bachelor once again.
The reality star — who became beloved as the jovial, self-effacing regular guy looking for love with Trista Rehn (now Trista Sutter) on The Bachelorette and then as the star of season 4 of ABC’s The Bachelor — and his wife of five years, All My Children star Rebecca Budig, are on the outs, according to several sources close to the couple.
“Lately it’s become clear that nothing is going to save this,” a friend of Budig says. “They’ve just grown apart and are no longer the people they were when they got married.”
The couple tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement: “We love each other very much. We are best friends and don’t know what the future holds.”
Meanwhile, a source close to the couple says, “They talk on the phone every day and they truly are best friends. They don’t know what is going to happen. They haven’t filed for divorce.” Adds the source, “They’re not even fighting.”
Although a source close to Guiney insists that he has re-entered the singles scene, the friend of the couple denies he’s back on the market: “He’s not at a point to date because it’s not over.”
Still, the friend of Budig says, “They’ve been on the rocks for a long time.”
Last March, Budig left her role as mischievous Greenlee on All My Children, which taped in New York City, citing her need to spend more time in Los Angeles with her husband. Ironically, she no longer has to choose between the two: All My Children recently relocated to Los Angeles, and Budig has since rejoined the show. But being on the same coast hasn’t been enough to save the marriage, says the Budig source. “It’s over and it’s been over for a while now.”
At Wednesday’s Television Critics Association event in Pasadena, Calif., Budig was present — and noticeably not wearing her wedding ring.
“I was late and ran out the door and just forgot to put it on,” she told a reporter before retreating hastily from an interview. –Joey Bartolomeo, Susan Young and Liz McNeil
