Twilight star Kellan Lutz confirms he’s a lead contender to star in the new Conan the Barbarian.

“It’s something that I’ve been actively going after because I’d die to put the weight back on,” he told us at last night’s Division-E party at Lisa Kline in L.A. “I’m tired of playing young; I want to be the big guy that I was.”

Just how close is he to winning the role?

“I’ve been auditioning,” Kellan, 24, said. “They’re finalizing so they’re trying to figure out what happens next. I’ve been waiting for a while, doing screen tests. There are just so many cooks in the kitchen. If it happens, it happens…Regardless, it’s not gonna be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger type of movie, no one’s going to try and play that role. I think they’re going younger, a different type of story. I’m just excited, because the script is great.”

Stargate: Atlantis actor Jason Momoa is also up for the role, according to Deadline Hollywood. With shooting scheduled to start on March 15 in Bulgaria, producers and director Marcus Nispel should be making a decision any day now. No word on how that fits with Lutz’s calendar, because Summit still hasn’t officially given the go for the next Twilight flick (or flicks, if a fifth one is made, too)

Meanwhile, Lutz was coy when asked about rumors he’s the new Calvin Klein underwear model à la Marky Mark Mark Wahlberg.

“If I had the chance to do that, I would love to,” he said.

Does Mr. Lutz wear Calvins? “All the time,” he smiled. “Boxer briefs!”

Noah Wyle and his wife Tracy have separated after 11 years of marriage, the actor’s rep tells PEOPLE.

“Tracy Wyle and Noah Wyle, who separated in late October 2009 have confirmed they have entered into a mediation process,” rep Eddie Michaels announced in a statement on the couple’s behalf. “Neither has legally filed for divorce. Tracy and Noah live in separate residences; however their two children (Owen, 7, and Auden, 4) see both parents daily.”

Wyle, best known as John Carter from NBC’s hit ER, married makeup artist Tracy Warbin in 1998 after meeting on the set of Myth of Fingerprints.

Says a friend of the couple: “They’re cooperative with each other and have put the interests of their children ahead of anything else.”

The ‘Look Who’s Talking’ actress’s weight has fluctuated greatly over the years and she has reportedly “twittered” that having already lost 6 lbs since the beginning of the year she determined to regain her slim figure and is motivating herself by sticking flattering photos of herself on her fridge.

I feel sorry for Kirstie. Having to always explain your weight to the public must really suck. She should never tell anyone when she either loses or gains weight. She’s just a bigger lady – she’s still beautiful, she shouldn’t have to keep explaining why her weight fluctuates! That’s just my opinion I suppose…

Tom Brady’s wife was prompted to pitch in after seeing the devastation done by this week’s earthquake. Bundchen is one of several celebs who’ve been stirred to action by the catastrophic images broadcast on TV. The leggy supermodel, who’s traveled all over the world, can certainly afford such charity considering she earned a reported $35 million last year.
