Mariah Carey to Launch Own Champagne Brand After Tipsy Speech

100106A2_CAREY_M_B-GR_04

Bottoms up!

One week after delivering a tipsy champagne-fueled speech at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala, the singer, 40, announced she’s launching her own line of bubbly.

“Didn’t realize they put the champagne on the tables, So we WOULDN’T drink it! LoL,” she wrote on Twitter Friday. “No, seriously ANGEL CHAMPAGNE (ROSE) by MC coming soon!”

Both George Clooney and Sean Penn mocked Carey’s Jan. 6 speech, which she jokingly blamed on Precious director Lee Daniels.

“We were celebrating and having little splashes, and I hadn’t eaten, and that’s what it was. We were celebrating the movie and all the exciting stuff going on,” Carey explained at the People’s Choice Awards the next day. “There’s a time for celebration and a time for not — but really technically, it’s a party atmosphere. We had splashes of champagne. I love Lee, but he’s a bad influence.”

The champagne won’t be the singer’s her first foray into alcohol production.

She invested in Mendocino County winery’s Mariah Zinfandel in 2006 — and even appeared on an episode of MTV Cribs knocking back a few glasses.

Chelsea Clinton plans to do her part to raise money for Haitian relief efforts by co-hosting a special 90-minute spin class in Manhattan.

SoulCycle, where the former First Daughter is a regular, sent a note out Friday, inviting customers to take part in a 90-minute ride that will be co-hosted by Clinton and top spin instructors Stacey Griffith and Laurie Cole.

“Good Afternoon SoulCyclists,” the note says “in a time of need, we can always look to our SOUL COMMUNITY to take action. In response to the recent devastation in Haiti, we are doing our best to make a difference. Please join Chelsea Clinton and SoulCycle for a special 90-minute ride on Thursday, Jan. 21 to benefit The Clinton Haiti Relief Fund.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds go to helping Haiti. The event takes place 7-8:30 p.m., and also features a multimedia presentation of Kym Perfetto’s 2006 photo journal of the Haitian Medical Mission, which established mobile clinics every four months in rural areas of Haiti.

Front row “seats” to the event cost $1,000, while second row bikes will go for $500 and all other bikes will be $100. Checks were to be made out to The Clinton Foundation with a notation that it should go to Haiti relief efforts.

Jessica Simpson “Almost Puked” During Runway Debut

91013X10_SIMPSON_B-GR_01

Despite having lived a good deal of her life under the scrutiny of photographers and TV cameras, Jessica Simpson confesses that she felt so nervous walking the runway at a Paris fashion show last fall that she nearly spilled the contents of her stomach right there and then.

“I almost puked,” the Texas belle revealed at a press conference on Friday morning to promote her upcoming VH1 show, The Price of Beauty, for which the runway segment was filmed. “I was so nervous to walk out there and be judged,” especially with “people who just eat salad.”

And while Jess didn’t upchuck in that particular instance, she confessed, “I throw up in a couple episodes.”

Jeez… We can’t wait.

Said Jessica of the personal journey she takes during the first season of Price of Beauty, “it changed me completely. I didn’t always have the inner confidence. The journey was finding what was beautiful inside me.”

And after her experience on the show, which looks at how other cultures view beauty, Jessica declared, “any man I find — they’re going to be darn lucky!”

On the general obsession with appearances, Jess said, “beauty is an easy thing to be obsessed with in our society [because of] the pressures put on women.”

And when asked her thoughts on cosmetic surgery, the singer diplomatically explained, “I’m not against plastic surgery if it’s for a woman to have confidence. We learn a lot about surgery in Brazil — the largest for butt implants, definitely for plastic surgery.”

That dress was so tight, butt pads wouldn’t have even fit! LOL! I got love for you, but that just isn’t the case!”

Kardashian, 29, is currently heating things up in a new commercial for her eponymous perfume.
