A month after Brittany Murphy’s death, her mother and husband say they are convinced the actress died of natural causes, not drugs or an eating disorder. The strain to be perfect under the scrutinizing microscope of Hollywood ultimately lead to her demise, her husband Simon Monjack said on ‘The Today Show.’
Monjack claims Murphy suffered a lot of stress in her career after Warner Brothers pulled back on an original offer to let her do ‘Happy Feet 2′ after rumors surfaced that Murphy was fired from a film. “Hollywood broke her heart,” he said. “They have blood on their hands, and I hope they wash them with very hot water because of the way they treated Brittany Murphy while she was alive,” Monjack said.
Monjack said he is also considering whether to sue the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department over an initial report that was obtained by celebrity Web site TMZ.com, which listed several prescription medications found in Murphy’s home. Monjack claims most of the medicines were his but added Murphy took the anti-seizure medication klonopin and that she also occasionally took Sarafem, a drug aimed at pain and mood swings during menstrual periods.
He also denied that Murphy ever used cocaine. “She had a fear of dying” because she had mitral valve prolapse, a common condition where a heart valve does not properly close. “She would not take too much caffeine. She wouldn’t even have a glass of champagne on New Year’s. She was just high on life, and people see that as something else I guess.”

Today on nymag.com’s Daily Intel blog, New York contributing editor Vanessa Grigoriadis talks to Tila Tequila about life after Casey and her love of Twitter:
Tequila is pretty flashy with her tweets. “I’ve found my calling with Twitter,” she says. “It’s all about the amount of interaction you do, and the traffic you move, and I’m really good at that. I keep going and going and going, and no one can believe that I can keep it up.” After all, Tequila’s real life is pretty lonely. “I just sit around at home, and I have nothing to do, so I am on the Internet all the time,” she says. The ring bobs around on her middle finger. “Man, I have lost so much weight in the past couple weeks that I can’t even keep this thing on my damn finger,” she says….
These days, Tequila has a few different ideas of what she might do with herself: “Right now, I’m trying to be the ambassador for Vietnam,” she says. “Like, ten years from now, I want to be the most respected woman, to be around presidents.” But before then she’s going to start her own gossip blog, Tila’s Hot Spot. “On the blog, I can be nice to people, or I can talk shit about people — and no one will be able to say anything about it because guess what? That’s my job, I’m a blogger!” But this is just the beginning. “As a celebrity, when your celebrity dies, your career dies,” she says. “I want to be a mogul, like P. Diddy or Donald Trump — I guess they’re celebrities, too, but not celebrities like ‘Oh shit, I need to get a TV show.’”

From TMZ:
Conan O’Brien and NBC worked out their final conflict hours ago and have reached a $45 million settlement … and we’ve learned it’s a sweeter deal for Conan than anyone thought.
Network sources tell TMZ the “mitigation” clause was taken off the table. Translation — Conan will get a severance of $32.5 million, regardless of whether he gets another hosting gig. Not bad for seven months work.
As we first reported, NBC will pay $7.5 million to Conan’s “Tonight Show” staff — and our sources believe the network added several thousand more to the pot at the last minute.
In addition, NBC will pay a whopping $4.5 million to the executive producer.
Conan’s last show is Friday. We’re told NBC hasn’t decided who will replace Conan for the period between Monday and the Winter Olympics.

Forget Rozlyn’s supposed hookup with a producer and Michelle getting the heave-ho: we haven’t seen nothin’ yet on this season of The Bachelor!
Star Jake Pavelka says the romantic reality competition is just getting warmed up this season. The lowest point “is yet to come,” the single stud tells ET. “It won’t be any secret,” he adds cryptically.
“Horrible. Awful. On a scale of one to 10, it nears a 10.” Pavelka admits that the to-be-revealed event created “devastation” for him. “It is juicy now,” he teases. “It is going to get a lot juicier.”
The new reality star claims that he bears no ill will toward Rozlyn nor Michelle, who left the show under less than ideal circumstances. Of Rozlyn’s alleged affair with a show producer, he offers, “If she truly found love, then I’m happy for her.”
What about Michelle? “Great girl. Maybe a little over emotional. She was there for me, not anybody else. She didn’t care what anybody else thought. I respected that … I felt in the end, her emotions maybe got in the way of us developing a relationship.”
Pavelka poo-poos rumors that he’s already engaged. “My parents don’t know,” he scoffs. “They don’t have any idea of the outcome, so it is amusing to think that there are people out there who do.”

Heidi Montag’s debut album may have set a record — just not a good one.
In its first week of release, The Hills star’s album, Superficial, has sold less than 1,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
In fact, industry sources tell UsMagazine.com that the album has sold only 658 downloads to date.
This is likely upsetting news for the reality star, who told Entertainment Weekly last week that she went broke making Superficial but thought that “within the first week, we will definitely make our money back.”
She told EW, “I put every dollar I have into this. I’ve spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It’s cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality… The songs will make an impact in pop history.”
Those songs have collectively sold 6,000 downloads, Nielsen SoundScan also reports.
