Jessica Simpson has a new bedroom buddy: A dog named Sammy.

“Sammy and I are falling asleep,” the singer, 29, Twittered. “Sweet snuggle companion.”

Last September, Simpson’s beloved maltipoo Daisy – a gift from ex Nick Lachey – was snatched by a wild coyote. The pooch was never found.

Though she is cozying up to Sammy, Simpson says she still hasn’t found a new dog to replace Daisy. “Sammy isn’t my new pup,” she Twittered. “I borrowed her for the night from my friends ”

Josh Duhamel still can’t stop thinking about his vow renewal ceremony with Fergie.

“It was a great day,” he told UsMagazine.com of the experience with just the two of them and a minister outside Santa Barbara, California, on Jan. 6.

How did he keep the vow renewal a surprise from his wife?

“I just didn’t tell her!” the actor, 37, said.

The couple — who first said “I Do” in front of hundreds of guests in Malibu on Jan. 10, 2009 — had to have the renewal a few days shy of their one-year anniversary because they weren’t able to be together on the actual day, something that is common for the two busy stars.

“I’ll see her in a couple of days in New York,” he told Us at the Youth Run 4 Haiti event that he organized in Santa Monica on Saturday. “She’s going with me to Utah for Sundance and then we are going to fly back for the premiere of When in Rome next week.”

Even when they are apart, Fergie, 34, does what she can to support her man.

“She wants to be here so bad,” he told Us of his fundraiser with the American Red Cross. “She’s lodged a big contribution to it… She helped me get the word out by speaking about it and helping me with some connections.”

True Blood fans with a taste for male eye-candy can breathe easy: stars Ryan Kwanten and Sam Trammell promise they’ll spend very little time in wardrobe for the show’s upcoming third season.

“We joke about it — and who has the record for the most disrobes,” says Trammell, who plays the shape-shifting Sam Merlot. “I think Ryan does. But I’m close behind him at this point because I’ve already disrobed like four or five times this year and I don’t think he has at all. I’ve got to fight that out with him. Ryan is definitely ready to show up and flaunt it, because he’s got the bod to back it up. He’s probably the least bashful.”

“I tend to think that I live my life relatively fearlessly,” admits Kwanten, who plays the heroic if not always clear-headed Jason Stackhouse. “If HBO knew half the things that I do in my personal life they probably wouldn’t be too happy about it … I have no fear. I sort of hide behind the guise that I am playing a character … Personally, I’m quite restrained and almost introverted. But as Mr. Stackhouse, I can’t afford to have any of those sensitivities.”

Trammell says the show’s producers don’t exactly help the cast stay in top shape for their frequent nude scenes. There is no exercise equipment on set, but plenty of tempting food on the craft services table. “[Working out is] up to us,” he says. “They’ve got the cookies out.”

He said the cast has gradually gotten used to performing in the buff. “Some of the ladies are kind of shy sometimes … Pretty much the process is: You’re shy, you take off your clothes once and then it’s done.”

She’s aware that she is the rock ‘n’ roll mom many love to hate. “Say the name Courtney Love to a stranger and they’re liable to respond, ‘That horrible woman!’ ” the Hole singer, 45, tells Dazed and Confused magazine.

But with over 7,000 followers on Twitter and a much-anticipated new record, it’s obvious folks can’t seem to get enough of her. Especially when she’s going off about family issues, like her recent loss of custody of daughter Frances Bean Cobain, an issue that’s still in flux, as far as Love is concerned.

“The past few years have been Frances and me against the world,” she says.

But for the life of her she can’t understand why so many people care. “I don’t make a good celebrity and nor do I want to,” she says. “If I was a good celebrity I’d be really enigmatic and contrived. Some people can step outside themselves and view themselves how others do. I just can’t.”

Admitting that she doesn’t “communicate brilliantly in any other form” but music, her next record, Nobody’s Daughter, offers a deeper glimpse into her world. Crafting an album about “greed, the recession, the depression [and] vengeance” she says, has “been the most important thing in my life other than Frances.”

Having successfully worked through her drug addiction, a struggle she says led to the “failure” of her solo career, Love has learned, “that you can’t be Mick and Keith. You can’t be the one on drugs and the one in control.”

It’s not all work for John Mayer, who is in Nashville and slated to film an upcoming episode of CMT’s Crossroads with Keith Urban Tuesday.

On Sunday, the rocker stepped out to dinner with Nashville resident – and good friend – Taylor Swift, at hot spot Cabana. The two, who recently recorded “Half of My Heart” for Mayer’s latest album Battle Studies, were joined by a group of about 15 friends and sat next to each other throughout the meal. But the gathering was friendly – and not romantic. “It looked like a big group of Nashville friends,” a source says of the group.

“They were so nice,” the source says of the two singers, who enjoyed their meal at a quiet table away from other diners but were also chatty with restaurant and bar staff.

And Swift is one dedicated diner. According to the source, this was her second visit to Cabana in one week. She stopped in on Jan. 19 with a smaller group of friends and ordered the Blanco pizza with provolone cheese and roasted garlic.

Gerard Butler goes out with friends to Venice Beach, stopping and talking with a lot of ladies on his way. He posed in front of a poster of one of his latest movies “Gamer”, before listening to a violinist play in front of her house. He then managed to exchange numbers and charm her in matter of minutes kissing her passionately on the sidewalk.
