Water for Elephants remains one of my favorite books of the last couple years. I absolutely LOVED it! I think I should read it again! Word has it Robert Pattinson is set to take the lead as the main character, Jacob. I can’t deny, I think this is genius casting!

Based on Sara Gruen’s best-selling historical tome of the same name, story centers on a Cornell U. veterinary student who leaves his studies after his parents are killed and joins up with the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth, working as a vet for the circus. Witherspoon will play Marlena, the beautiful equestrian star married to August (Penn), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer.

“Twilight” star Pattinson has been on every studio’s wish list. His deal is expected to close. Penn, who is in Haiti on a humanitarian mission, is the bigger question mark. He has an offer from the studio but is still mulling the role.

UsMagazine.com – which first broke the news of Peet’s pregnancy – can exclusively reveal that she is expecting a daughter.

While at the Sundance Film Festival – where Peet, 38, premiered the comedy Please Give on Jan. 22 – the actress showed off her baby bump and was overheard telling pals, “We’re having a baby girl!”

In 2007, Peet and her husband of three years, screenwriter David Benioff, welcomed their first child, Frances “Frankie” Pen, whom Peet named after her mother, Penny.

Last year, she told Parade she hopes her daughter doesn’t grow up too fast.

“I’m trying not to think about what the world will be like when she grows up,” she said. “I think more about when is she going to start drinking and wearing a G-string and how can I stop those things from happening.”

Rumors of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s alleged $333 million deal to split have left everyone wondering if the superstar Hollywood couple really are breaking up. Life & Style can exclusively reveal the truth behind their meeting with an LA divorce lawyer: The unmarried couple met with a lawyer to prepare the equivalent of a prenuptial agreement — not to split up!

“Brad and Angelina had a meeting with a top law firm in LA in December, where they worked out terms of a legal document similar to a prenup,” an insider reveals exclusively to Life & Style. “The couple signed the document in early January. They agreed to share their money and assets and custody of their six children, all of whom would live with Angelina in the event of their parents’ breakup.”

But this doesn’t mean they are ending their five-year relationship. “They didn’t talk to the lawyer about splitting, nor was that ever mentioned at the meeting,” the insider notes, adding that they were “snippy with each other” during the meeting. “Brad and Angelina aren’t splitting right now,” says a second insider close to the couple. “Will they be together forever as a couple? Probably not. It’ll run its course, but I think they’re fine — for now.”

LeAnn Rimes – who famously had an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian while wed to Dean Sheremet — is performing new songs that focus on breaking an ex’s heart.

The country crooner, 27, took to the stage Monday at the ASCAP Music Cafe at the Sundance Film Festival, where she debuted one untitled tune.

“This song is going to make me cry,” she warned her audience. “It’s about love.” The lyrics included: “What have I done? I broke the heart of the sweetest man. What have I done? I broke the heart of the only man who’s ever loved me. Who have I become? I hope you find someone new, someone who deserves you.”

Though one source tells UsMagazine.com Rimes penned the tune “during the height of the cheating” and it is “100 percent” about her ex, another insists it “was written several years ago before the situation with Dean and the cheating. I can understand how it can be interpreted to be about what happened.”

During her set Monday, Rimes was more vocal when it came to explaining the meaning behind another song titled “God Takes Care of Your Kind.”

“A friend of mine got divorced about three years and the guy turned into a real *sshole and we wanted to kill him,” she told the audience. “Everyone gets their heart broken and wants revenge. Sometimes we sit around drinking wine and talk about it, but this song is for everyone who wants to finally get that revenge.”

Rimes, and Sheremet, 29, reached a divorced settlement in late December. The pair – who wed in 2002 – parted ways last July, four months after Us Weekly first broke news of Rimes’ affair. (Cibrian, 36, is currently in midst of divorcing wife Brandi Glanville, with whom he has two children).

Since the end of the respective marriages, Rimes and Cibrian have stepped out publicly as a couple.
