A representative for Pete Wentz has explained the reason behind the star’s black eye – he tripped while walking through New York City.

The Fall Out Boy bassist appeared to have suffered over his Christmas holiday after he was photographed with bruising to his face while doing post-Yuletide shopping in Manhattan. But the injury occurred when he took a tumble in the Big Apple.

A spokesperson for the star insists the injury isn’t as bad as it looks, joking that it was “the mean streets of New York that got to him”.

Wentz is currently staying in New York while his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz stars as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago.

Sadie Frost has split up from Welsh actor Andy Jones.

The actress-turned-fashion designer has ended her on/off relationship with her 29-year-old toy boy lover because he was constantly star-struck by her celebrity friends, which include Kate Moss, who live near her in north London region Primrose Hill.

A source told The Sun, “Sadie is upset but Andy was too green to hang around the Primrose Hill set. Every time he met Kate Moss or Jude Law, he got star-struck and tried to impress them.”

The 44-year-old socialite – who first started dating Andy in 2005 – now faces spending New Year’s Eve with her eldest son Finlay, 19, from her relationship with Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp.

British comic actor Matthew Horne has also reportedly been asking Sadie – who has three children with her ex-husband Jude – if she has any plans for the celebratory evening.

Meanwhile, Jude has been having a great time frolicking with Sienna Miller in Barbados over the festive period.

The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ actor has rekindled his romance with the actress – who he split from in 2006, after it was revealed he had been having an affair with his children’s nanny – and the pair have been enjoying a sun-drenched break on the Caribbean island.

Simon Cowell was given a £500,000 painting for Christmas.

The music mogul – who runs record label Syco – was treated to an original painting by British graffiti artist Banksy, to replicate one of the 50-year-old TV personality’s favorite artworks .

The artist – who is known for his stencil-style public pieces – superimposed Simon’s head on a reproduction of Degas’ 1874 creation, Rehearsal Of The Ballet On Stage.

A source told the Daily Mirror, “Record label execs wanted something unique to give Simon. He’s a secret art collector and loves Degas – plus he’s a huge fan of Banksy. So they got Banksy to mock up one of Degas’ most famous works. In the picture, it looks like Simon’s deciding whether or not the girl has the ‘X Factor’.

“He took one look at it and declared it ‘hilarious’.”

The 50-year-old ‘X Factor’ judge’s record company has achieved massive profits this year after Syco acts Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle and Alexandra Burke sold millions of LPs worldwide.

Despite Simon’s celebrity status, executives at his label had a hard time persuading Banksy to help them out.

The source explained: “Banksy rarely does private commissions so it was a real coup by record label bosses to secure his services. They are very pleased with what he created.”

Simon has hung the painting at his luxurious London home, and has already had two prints made up for his houses in Barbados and Los Angeles.

The ‘Toxic’ singer has learned to relax and focus on her own interests since her much-publicized breakdown in 2007.

She said: “I’m learning to take better care of myself and not get stressed or down about things for nothing. I’m taking my time these days and not letting myself get under any pressure other than to just feel happy about myself and to work on my music. I want to show people I am a strong woman. I have a lot of great things ahead of me that I want to accomplish. I feel positive and much happier, things are looking good again. I’m learning to relax and not place so much pressure on myself.”

The ‘Womanizer’ star says working on her recent album ‘Circus’ was key to helping her move forward with her life.

She added: “I’ve been through a lot and I’m really excited by my album. I’m very proud of it. I really enjoyed the process of putting the album together and it’s been kind of therapeutic for me. Music is such a huge part of me.”

Kate Beckinsale worries about her looks.

The British actress – who was recently named the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine – insists she has the same insecurities about her appearance as every other woman.

She said: “I’ve always had doubts about my looks. Most women have body issues and I’m no different.”

In 2004, Kate was plagued by rumors she’d had a boob job after she had to gain 14lbs for her role as Ava Gardner in the movie ‘Aviator’.

The 26-year-old actress admits she let the rumors get to her and regrets ever getting sucked into the Hollywood machine.

She added to Reveal magazine: “We were suddenly talking about breasts – not brains. At one point I felt as though everyone was out to get me. I was having everything examined from my cellulite to my choice of films. I had allowed my self to be flattered when all this talk of breasts started because I assumed it meant I looked good. But when I found out it meant I had horrible boobs I was taken aback. I began to wonder why I cared about things which, essentially, don’t matter at all.”

Kim Kardashian can add a new title to her resume – she is the highest-paid blogger on social networking website Twitter.com, receiving $10,000 per post.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is placed at the top of the list on Ad.ly, an online service that allows celebrities to “monetize” their tweets.

The 29-year-old trendsetting star commands the sum for every endorsement she posts to her 2.7 million followers.

She tells Us Weekly, “I tweet about products, places, foods and fashion that I love.”

Other celebrities working with the online marketing service include rapper Soulja Boy, and reality TV stars Audrina Patridge and Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Joe Francis has threatened to sue a New York-based website for $10 million following a story labeling him a rapist.

Francis is fuming over a recent article on Gawker.com, in which he was crowned the winner of its Douche of the Decade poll and was tagged with the label.

Francis has never been accused of rape – and he exploded with fury when he saw the online report.

In an email to Gawker founder Nick Denton, Francis writes: “You messed with the wrong guy. No one makes up lies about me and gets away with it. I lost a $10 million deal as a direct result of you calling me ‘a rapist.’ You will be paying me every dime of that back and more! Are you mentally retarded? Do your research first. I am coming after you harder than I ever went after anyone. I am going to wipe you off the grid!!!! YOU ARE DONE! I will take everything you have. You, Nick Denton, are truly the douche of the decade. Merry Xmas IDIOT!!! ”

Francis attached a photograph of himself topless, adding: “I sent you an updated picture of how I look now… because you seem to be quite sexually obsessed with me.”

The media mogul elaborated to the New York Post, “They used Wikipedia as their source. It’s pathetic.”

Gawker has not been served with any papers by Francis, according to managing editor Gabriel Snyder, who says the website has no plans to retract the story.
